6-65. A typical ABD layout consists of a base perimeter<br />

that surrounds the runway and the facilities that<br />

support air base operations. The tactical perimeter of a<br />

base is the outer most ABD tactical AOR. It is where<br />

defense forces cover, patrol, or occupy likely avenues of<br />

approach to the base and other key terrain. Figure 6-5<br />

shows a typical ABD layout.<br />
