Mon 10 July Make Your Own Mondays: River Adventure! RSPB, Largs Road, Lochwinnoch 11am to 1pm OR 2pm - 4pm Come along & make your own boat! We will then head down to the river to sail them, and do some river dipping so see what little creatures live below the surface! Booking essential. Cost: £5 (Wildlife Explorers £3) - Adults go free! Thu 13 July Orienteering Finlaystone Country Estate - Langbank 1pm to 3pm RSPB Lochwinnoch Photography Competition RSPB, Largs Road, Lochwinnoch, 5pm DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES. Take part in our annual photo competition! Photographs must be taken on or from the reserve. For more information on how to enter please contact the reserve. There are two categories: Birds; Other. Winners announced on Facebook & posted at the reserve Sunday 10th September. Cost: £4 to enter. This event is not your usual kind – you do it with your own family in your own time! Simply pop into the Visitor centre any time between Friday 14th and Thursday 20th July, where the friendly staff will get you started. Then, visit different stations along our main tail to find out all about flowers & butterflies! Cost: £3 per child (RSPB members £1) [Normal trail fees apply for accompanying adults] Sat 15 - Sun 16 July Wild Night Finlaystone Country Estate - Langbank 5pm to 8am The Finlaystone overnight camp. Join the Rangers for fun and burgers and sing into the wee small hours. Kids will enjoy the bat walk and Den Building. Tent, warm clothes, waterproofs and BBQ food required. Adults £10, Children £5. Pre-booking essential. Sat 15 July Beach Watch Lunderston Bay, Cloch Road, near Gourock PA19 1BB, 11am to 1pm Make Your Own Mondays: Bushcraft – Woodland Explorers RSPB, Largs Road, Lochwinnoch 11am to 1pm OR 2pm - 4pm Join us for a journey through Lochwinnoch’s magical woodland! We will make special journey sticks, then discover the forest’s trees in a new way! We will also create clay sculptures, and make animal homes too! Booking essential. Mon 17 - Fri 21 July Holiday Club Howwood Parish Church Hall, Main Street, Howwood 10am to 12noon Howwood Parish Church are holding a Holiday Club for Primary School children. Tue 18 July Woodland Fairy Hunt Finlaystone Country Estate - Langbank 1pm to 3pm Join our Rangers and search for the hidden Fairy Doors throughout the forest then make your own to take home. £2.50 for materials. Tue 18 - Wed 19 July Green Space Tidy-Up Brookfield Village Hall, Woodside Road, Brookfield, 10am to 7pm In the run up to Gala Day, the Gardening Club is planning to spruce up the village green spaces and would like to invite any willing residents to come along and help. Target areas are the Millennium Garden at the top of Victoria Road and the field. The areas at the foot of Albert Road and between Chuckie Lane and Burnside Avenue are also being considered. Turn up anytime between 10am and 7pm – even if you can only spare half an hour. Please bring your own tools/gloves. Weather permitting. The Breitling Wingwalkers will be performing their unique daredevil stunts, a pair of Jet Provosts will set pulses racing and the Royal Navy Historic Flight Swordfish returns.
