AdamsArtExpose’ IN MEMORY OF BILL TiNSLEY William Houston Tinsley died Monday, June 12, 2017, at his home on 2185 Jacques Drive in Palm Springs. He leaves behind his nieces Catherine Charles of Desert Hot Springs, Californa and Virgina Hoge of Pasadena, California. He also will be missed by his many friends he has made over the past 30 years while living in the Palm Springs area. Navy Uniform of which Bill would jokingly tell friends he would don various Military uniforms depending on who he was intending to meet for a date. Born in Covington, VA on February 11, 1925. He lived in an orphanage during his adolescent years. He went into the U.S. Military during World War II, where he served in the U.S. Air Force. After serving in the military he attended the University of Colorado. He was employed by Industrial Indemnity as an insurance investigator/underwriter in Los Angeles. He lived in Silver Lake where he was a landlord of an apartment complex he owned. He moved to Palm Springs in 1987 where he has lived at the same residence until his death. Bill was known as a kind and generous man and to all of his friends and acquaintances and also as a lover of animals of which he has rescued a number of dogs during his life in Palm Springs. The Tool Shed was his Sunday morning meeting place with many of his closest friends during the past 10 years in what was called the church service, for those that met there. The swimming pool at Luckie Park will stay open until 8:30 p.m. Fireworks shoot off at 9 p.m. Luckie Park is located off Utah Trail between Two Mile Road and Joe Davis Drive, Twentynine Palms. The Children’s Discovery Museum will host an Independence Day Parade at The River in Rancho Mirage starting at 5:30 p.m. July 1. The event is free and open to all ages. Participants are encouraged to bring a bike, trike or stroller to decorate in true patriotic style beginning at 4 p.m. local Social Events Hot tip! Welcome to the Drummer California Weekend!!! June 30 - July 2. Friday night there will be the Fetish Masquerade Ball at the Barracks in Cathedral City. Admission is by DONATION. Recommended donation is $10. Costumes are strongly urged!!! There will entertainment as well as dancing. Saturday night is the actual contest for Drummer, Drummerboy, and this year Drummer Bootblack. Festivities will begin at 8:00 PM sharp!!! Also after the contest on Saturday, there will be a Queer play space at the Barracks. Tickets will also be on sale at the Barracks. Twentynine Palms Start the day by participating in the Firecracker 5000, a one-mile day afternoon along with a vendor mart. BDSM Classes and such will be offered on Satur- fun run open to all ages.
