Well the circus continues. The week begins
with resignation of the Health & Human
Services Secretary Tom Price resigning for
spending $800,000 on private planes to travel
instead of commercial and ended with four
other cabinet secretaries under investigation
for the same thing. What happened to draining
the swamp?
Some things are just common sense. I have
actually waited for Obama’s Housing Secretary
to arrive for a meeting because he was
flying commercial. What is wrong with these
people?
We have also witnessed the worst mass killing
in US History in Las Vegas. A 60 + white
guy using automatic weapons to shoot 100’s
of people enjoying a concert and killing over
50. He had over dozens of guns in his hotel
room and more at his house? Someone tell
me how the Second Amendment protects
someone’s right to own automatic weapons?
The Supreme Court majority says they believe
in the Constitution AS IT IS WRITTEN. So
- hand everyone a musket and ball to defend
their home. No need for more.
Cathedral City actually does not allow the sale
of guns - PERIOD. The rest of the valley cities
should do the same thing.
The President traveled to Puerto Rico to
tour the damage from Hurricane Maria. No
electricity in the territory. Massive shortages
of food, water, fuel. And what does he give
out? PAPER TOWELS! I’d like to blame him
entirely but who is giving him advice? Who’s
in charge of optics? Where is Melania?
The week ended with a full scale attack
on transgendered citizens with the Justice
Department rescinding employment protections
made by the Obama Administration.
Additionally, the Vice President left an NFL
game when team members knelt during the
National Anthem. He tweeted saying he
“didn’t want to dignify the event”. If he is
worried about his presence lending dignity
he needs to resign from office over the total
ineptness of Donald Trump.
The President additionally made statements
that might mean war with North Korea is
imminent. I would ask if he as any plans for
the 40,000 US soldiers stationed in the South,
or the millions of innocents in South Korea
that would be in direct harms way, let alone
Japan or Hawaii should the North launch an
ICBM in retaliation.
Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee apparently
has had enough, announcing that he will not
seek reelection in 2018. He then went on to
say how sad it was that the Administration
was governing as if it was in preschool. And
this is a Republican Senator! Where are the
others with back bone?
The Administration tax plan is now in trouble.
Once again, they are choosing to use Senate
rules that allow for a simple majority to pass
the bill and not take into consideration any
Democratic amendments. IF they lose three
Republic votes the bill dies (just like health
care). I’m beginning to think Mr. Trump
used a ghost writer for “The Art of the Deal”,
because he sure has no clue how to negotiate.
