LAKE ATITLAN (GUATEMALA)
Visitors to Lake Atitlan often gush
about how gorgeous the area is. Surrounded
by mountains, including a few volcanoes,
and incredibly green forests, this location
is particularly popular with kayakers and
backpackers. And, if you love coffee,
you can’t go wrong getting a drink here.
Where should you stay? Try Hotel
IslaVerde, which has great reviews. As with
most of the other places on this list, you
can get a room for just about forty dollars
a night.
5 TRANSYLVANIA
REGION (ROMANIA)
Once you get rid of the images of
Dracula that pop up whenever anyone
says anything about Transylvania, give
this location a chance. It has a number
of different historic towns, all of which
have a rich history, museums, trails and
even excellent vineyards. If you don’t
like to stay in one place for your whole
vacation, you can rent a vehicle and head
to a different area throughout your trip.
Head to Sighisoara to spend the night, and
look up a place called Hotel Central Park,
which has a cool history all its own. There’s
a neat weapons museum, a Saxon edifice
that is almost a thousand years old and
much more. You can stay there for about
sixty five dollars a night.

SIEM REAP (CAMBODIA)
Siem Reap is a unique vacation
destination, with its Chinese style
architecture and crocodile farms. It’s also
an area rich in history, as it used to be an
outpost of the French Empire. There are so
many reasons to check out Siem Reap, and
just one of them is the fact that it has a
ton of old temples from the 11th century.
The Gloria Angkor Hotel is a great place
to grab a room. You can stay there for
just about thirty dollars a night and it is
very close to the ancient temples. While
the pool is small, it is quiet. Staying at the
Gloria Angkor Hotel is a great bargain!
