In this class, Cutting With Confidence 4: Dedication To Your Craft, licensed barber, instructor and inventor of Da Gauge, Derrick Smith will discuss the importance of dedication, self-motivation, and resiliency as it relates to a successful career in the barbering industry. This is a class for new barbers just learning how to navigate the profession as well as veteran barbers wanting looking to avoid burnout. Presentation by: DERRICK SMITH PICTURE PERFECT CUTS 2 Sunday : 1:00PM - 2:00PM Janarius Harris aka J-Roc Da Barber has quickly become a top name in the barber industry as an in demand celebrity barber and business owner. J-Roc has established a name built off of precise contemporary styles and flashy new age designs. Janarius “J-Roc Da Barber” Harris will discuss the process of creating seamless blends and perfect edge ups. He will also discuss the importance of quality clientele over quantity of clientele. J-Roc has appeared on The CW’s “Cedric’s Barber Battle”. Presentation by: JANARIUS HARRIS THE SECRET AGENT: LINE ENHANCEMENTS Sunday : 3:00PM - 4:00PM Rodrick Brown is a licensed barber instructor and business owner. In this class you will learn how to get the most crisp hair lines, regardless of the client. Areas of focus will be: the proper tools and products to use, the best techniques for consistent work, as well as proper station sanitation. Brown will also discuss the process of creating his line of products, 007: The Secret Agent line enhancements. For any barber and stylist looking to improve their edge ups, this class is a must. Every student is allowed to perform any type of cut they prefer. Students are encouraged to show their skills with a traditional cut or freestyle. The competition will be 40 minutes long. Pre-cut models are not allowed. The winner will be announced after the battle. Traditional Battle 12:20PM L ENTRY FEE: $100 L 1ST PLACE: BELTS AND PRIZES, AND $400 This competition consists of barbers competing on everyday men’s hairstyles. Each barber will have the maximum time of 25 minutes. NO COLOR, NO SPRAY. Judging will take place after the 25 minutes. Competitors will have an additional 10 minutes to add color or spray for extra points. All cutting will be performed on the floor. Pre-cutting is not allowed. Judging will be based on precision cutting. Design Battle monday november 14, 2016 entry into the competition includes a 1:40PM L ENTRY FEE: $100 L 1ST PLACE: BELTS AND PRIZES, AND $400 This competition consists of barbers displaying their artistic ability (designs in the interior of the haircut). Competitors have 45 minutes to complete the artistic work. Judging will take place after the 45 minutes. All cutting will be performed on the floor.
