Sealed bids, addressed to Office of the Purchasing Agent, City Hall, 24 Lowell<br />
Street, Peabody, MA 01960, will be received until 2:00 PM, prevailing local time,<br />
Thursday, March 29, 2018 and then publicly opened and read for:<br />
CONSTRUCTION OF CRYSTAL LAKE PARK<br />
The Bid describes construction of a new Park comprising 35,000 gsf +/- at a site<br />
off Lowell Street in West Peabody adjacent to Crystal Lake, with work including site<br />
preparation, various special site use amenities to be installed, construction of<br />
electrical services for park operations and other improvements to the site for public<br />
use.<br />
Parties interested in obtaining the Bid Documents shall notify the Peabody<br />
Purchasing Department of their interest in the project, offering full contact<br />
information to allow the City to provide information to access electronic versions of<br />
the Plans and Specifications. Send email to: purchasing@Peabody-ma.gov to<br />
request project Plans and Specifications.<br />
The City of Peabody is not responsible for accuracy or completeness of bids<br />
prepared using documents obtained from any source other than the City<br />
Purchasing Agent. Only those firms recording themselves with the City Purchasing<br />
Department shall receive communications concerning this Bid, as issued<br />
subsequent to when Bid Documents were first made available.<br />
All bids shall be accompanied by bid security presented as a bid bond in the form<br />
prescribed under MGL Ch. 30 § 39M, in cash, or with a certified check, or<br />
treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company,<br />
drawn for an amount of five percent (5%) of the value of the bid; all security made<br />
payable to the city of Peabody.<br />
A Performance Bond, as well as a Labor and Materials or Payment Bond, each in<br />
such a form as prescribed in the Bid Documents, and issued by a firm properly<br />
licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, shall be furnished to the City<br />
before the signing of the Contract, by the Contractor who shall be awarded the<br />
work. These bonds shall be drawn for One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Total<br />
Contract price.<br />
Minimum wage rates have been established by the Commonwealth of<br />
Massachusetts under authority of M.G.L., Chapter 149, sections 26 to 27G<br />
inclusive. The Contractor shall be responsible during the progress of the work for<br />
reporting their compliance with these laws, by their own forces and subcontractors<br />
who may be used.<br />
The City of Peabody reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to reject any<br />
or all Bids, or part(s) thereof, to award the bid subject to appropriation regarding<br />
prices including Alternates, and to accept the Bid deemed most satisfactory to the<br />
City based upon vendor qualification, and otherwise as deemed to be in the best<br />
public interest to do so.<br />
