An unkown monument we found on ridge leading down from<br />

lower end <strong>of</strong> Summit Valley. 5 miles below, undouterly was a<br />

marker put there, by relief partys coming up from Bear Vallley. (<br />

This natural ridge would be only place free <strong>of</strong> snow for many miles<br />

that pack mules could be driven.)<br />

and is near where Emer. and some died here.<br />
