“This cute little old grave yard on a rise, on the south side <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Humboldt River, abouve Beowawee, Nev. The cross <strong>of</strong> Lucuida<br />

Duncan can be readily seen. Many early emigrants are buried here<br />

– probably serveral – cares – but are unknown people <strong>to</strong>day” C.D.<br />

Index Card 696 Air mail statioin, Elko Nev. It was here that Capt. Daivs arranged<br />

for the cooperation <strong>of</strong> the flyers <strong>of</strong> the air mail <strong>to</strong> watch out for<br />

distress signals from him in case <strong>of</strong> trouble or disaster – a prearanged<br />

code was agreed upon, and every day the air men watched<br />

out for him, & <strong>of</strong>ten swooped down low <strong>to</strong> wave at him.<br />
