Index Card 1045 This young ox was fd by Capt. Davis <strong>of</strong>f Granite Mt. in Utah,<br />

some 50 miles from where wagons lay. The marks still show in the<br />

desert where the ox came from and becoming completely<br />

exhausted began circling round and round, finally falling in this<br />

spot. This is probably the crazed steer that frightened the Reed’s<br />

children out on the desert the night they cowered in terror after<br />

their animals had stampeded.<br />
