Intrusion detection and
access control panel
The PACOM 8003 is an IP-enabled hybrid
controller that provides intrusion detection and
access control for up to two doors. A true hybrid
panel, it is capable of delivering both access
control and robust, EN Grade 3 intrusion detection
across applications of all sizes; from simple twodoor
installations to campuses and multi-site
estates.
Built to ensure compliance with EN 50131 and
BS8243 PD6662-2017 approvals, the PACOM 8003
reportedly helps to reduce false alarms by meeting
standards concerning the method by which alarms
are confirmed and therefore whether a police
response is activated. To this end, the PACOM
8003 can confirm alarm activation by video,
audio and sequential alarm verification.
The PACOM 8003 offers up to eight
configurable five state inputs
and eight outputs comprising
two relays and six open
collectors. Inputs can be
expanded up to 64 and
outputs can be expanded up to
32 via the addition of on-board
expansion modules and/or
remote I/O devices.

Using old smartphones and
tablets as security cameras
Manything was originally
launched as an app allowing
users to turn retired
smartphones and tablets into
home security cameras. The
solution developed into
Manything Pro which
empowers professional
security installers and
distributors to offer remote
viewing and offsite cloud
recording to their customers,
and in turn create a new source
of recurring revenue.
This cloud Software as a
Service solution allows end
users to access their video through the Manything
Pro app (available on Apple or Android phones and
tablets) or via a web browser. Professional
installers can manage their customers through the
Manything Pro partner portal. An unlimited number
of cameras can be added for live viewing for free –
users only pay for select cameras that are
recording to the cloud.
Most installers and distributors want to add
recurring revenue subscription products to their
offering, but they haven’t got the time or resource
to handle monthly or annual payments. The
Manything Pro platform can now do this for them.

Software for enhancing fire
detection and monitoring
Kentec has launched its Ockular
software solution providing
complete control over fire
detection and monitoring.
The software enables the
creation of a 2D site map of any site or building
to monitor fire safety and detection, and
automatically switches to an area where a fire
device has been activated to allow immediate
viewing and investigation of an event. It will
also display the relevant emergency assembly
and fire control points.
Configurable on-site using an
administrator login, Ockular supports dual
screens allowing a dedicated screen for the
2D graphic map and a separate screen for
system management. It also reports any
configuration errors ensuring that the
graphics system is maintained and updated
whenever the panel configuration is revised.

Robust incident recorder
with longer battery life
Edesix has launched the VideoTag VT-100 -
where the incident recorder meets the body
worn camera. The VT-100 is similar to the VT-50
incident recorder, but with the benefits of more
durability and longer battery life.
The VT-100 is aimed at deterring aggression,
protecting staff and providing secure
evidential-quality footage on demand. It is
listed as robust and weatherproof, while
remaining lightweight and unobtrusive.
The VT-100 can record up to four hours of
continuous footage, requires no extra training,
streams live footage, and claims a standby
