The ‘Keep Me Warm’ EP by Maya Jane Coles is deliciously dark and
mysterious. The unique and eerie voice is stunning. The moody
atmosphere, varying rhythm and lovely flairs of high notes on the
production are modestly yet beautifully crafted. ‘Go On And Make It
Through’ has more vibrancy though is still stained with spinetingling
vocal cut. ABSOLUTE’s 1AM Remix plays on the darkness
with a deep rumble of bass whilst the 5AM remix is big and thrilling.
Maya Jane Coles delivers a new EP of dark and atmospheric remixes
taken from her sophomore double length album 'Take Flight'.
Teaming up with Brighton based duo GAPS on title track 'Keep Me
Warm', Maya interlaces poignant and hypnotics vocals with her
characteristic and compelling production.
On the remix front fellow Londoner ABSOLUTE serves two energetic
rave infused cuts and while his “1am Remix” of Keep Me Warm will
be available exclusively through Beatport both remixes are sure to
add to the mass of tastemaker support he has received over the last
12 months.
The American songwriter Wendy Rae Fowler who has previously
completed high profile vocal col-laborations with Queens of the
Stone Age and most recently with UNKLE‘s Richard File We Fell to
Earth project lends her dusty and melancholy vocals alongside
visceral guitar chords on the mas-terpiece 'A Chemical Affair.; a
melancholy track arguably motivated by the shadows of Insomnia
that stood out amongst critics upon the release of Maya’s album last
year.
Also on the release, 'Go on And Make It Through' leans towards
Maya’s club focus; providing as-sertive 4/4 beats that are sure to
make it into her summer sets which includes several appearanc-es
at ANTS Ibiza, Pacha and Junction 2 Festival London.
‘‘Take Flight’ which features the original versions of Keep Me Warm,
My Chemical Affair and Go On & Make It Through is available on
Double CD / Heavy Weight 3 x Vinyl Box Set / USB / Digital plus a
limited Deluxe Hardback Book CD format and also be exclusively
available via Maya’s artist store.
