CROATIA<br />

Child support and collection procedure is a judicial matter. The Family Act provi<strong>de</strong>s for an<br />

agreement between the parents and between a full-age child and his/her parent and this<br />

matter is <strong>de</strong>alt with by the social welfare centre (administrative process).<br />

CYPRUS<br />

CZECH REPUBLIC<br />

As stated hereabove, maintenance is established in court proceedings.<br />

DENMARK<br />

In Denmark, child support is only <strong>de</strong>termined through an administrative process by The County<br />

Governor’s Office (“statsamtet”).<br />

ESTONIA<br />

The maintenance support obligation and the amount of maintenance support are <strong>de</strong>termined in<br />

court proceedings by way of a civil action.<br />

FINLAND<br />

If the parents can reach an agreement on the maintenance to be paid to the child, the matter<br />

will be handled through an administrative process. When the parents have ma<strong>de</strong> an agreement,<br />

they have to submit the agreement to the municipal social welfare board for approval. When the<br />

municipal social welfare board has approved the agreement, it can be enforced in the same way<br />

as a final judgment issued by a court.<br />

If the parents cannot reach an agreement on the maintenance to be paid to the child, the matter<br />

has to be handled through a judicial process. The custodian or the guardian of the child has a<br />

right to institute the proceeding in the name of the child. The municipal social welfare board has<br />

also, un<strong>de</strong>r certain conditions, a right to institute the proceeding in the name of the child. If the<br />
