Check off your shopping list, soak in the ambience of<br />

Santa Parade<br />
Sunday 2 <strong>December</strong>, 2pm<br />
It’s not Christmas until you’ve been to<br />
the Santa Parade. Come in to the city<br />
and enjoy the spectacular floats, clowns,<br />
animals, marching girls, music and of<br />
course Santa himself! This festival of<br />
all-things Christmas, is not to be missed.<br />
The Parade will start at the corner of<br />
Madras and St Asaph Streets and travel<br />
down Madras Street to Kilmore Street.<br />
While you’re in town, let the kids burn<br />
off some energy at the Margaret Mahy<br />
Playground then wander down to The<br />
Terrace for a riverside beverage and<br />
some delicious hot food.<br />
Christmas shopping in the<br />
central city<br />
The central city will be buzzing with the<br />
festive feeling this <strong>December</strong> so come<br />
in and soak up the warm summer days<br />
as you tick off your gift list.<br />
Throughout <strong>December</strong>, lucky shoppers<br />
may even stumble across our Christmas<br />
elves giving out vouchers from local<br />
retailers, carrying shopping bags and<br />
topping up parking meters!<br />
Join us for an evening of late night<br />
shopping on Friday 14 <strong>December</strong>, from<br />
6pm to 8pm. The central city will be<br />
buzzing with festivities and our magical<br />
Christmas elves will be out in full force.<br />
SummerTimes<br />
The annual SummerTimes programme<br />
brings a hive of activity to the city every<br />
year with a huge range of events from<br />
<strong>December</strong> through to March. Why not<br />
grab a bite to eat and check out one of<br />
the fantastic events in the central city?<br />
On Friday 7 <strong>December</strong> celebrate the<br />
launch of the SummerTimes programme<br />
with live bands on The Terrace from<br />
4:30pm to 7pm. Get festive at the<br />
YMCA Carols by Candlelight in Victoria<br />
Square on Christmas Eve and celebrate<br />
New Year’s Eve in North Hagley Park<br />
with The Jordan Luck Band!<br />
