When Huawei announced its business results<br />
for the first quarter of <strong>2019</strong>, notching up<br />
CNY179.7 billion (USD 26.81 billion) generated<br />
revenue and an astounding 39 per cent<br />
increase in its first quarter revenue, it was no surprise to<br />
anyone who has been watching the meteoric rise of the<br />
Chinese powerhouse. In the past eight years, Huawei Consumer<br />
BG has pushed ahead with its "consumer-centric"<br />
approach, taking the lead in a number of the industry's<br />
most popular, innovative, and competitive technological<br />
fi e l d s , s u c h a s p h o t o g r a p h y, b a t t e r y l i f e , c o m m u n i c a t i o n ,<br />
and AI. In the global smartphone market, Huawei has gone<br />
from being dismissed as a statistical "Other" to ranking<br />
among the top 2 players in the world. Again, not a surprise<br />
when it was recently announced in the first quarter of <strong>2019</strong>,<br />
that Huawei became the world's second largest smartphone<br />
manufacturer, with a 17% global market share with<br />
50% growth year-on-year. HUAWEI reached its highest level<br />
of market share in Q1 <strong>2019</strong>, according to the recent report by<br />
International Data Corporation (IDC).<br />
