Rochdale Antique Society
Wednesday 8th May 2019 at 7.30pm, following a
short AGM, Rochdale Antiques Society will welcome
Pat Osborne, a mixed media artist from Hebden
Bridge who will tell us what LS Lowry was really like
from her own artist’s perspective.
LS Lowry (1887-1975) studied art at night school
whilst working as a rent collector. His work is
associated with “matchstick men”, but he also painted
landscapes, portraits and surreal images. A very
private man he turned down honours on 5 occasions
and was often seen as an enigma.
This is the last of this year’s season. We will have a
short break until September and announce details of
future meetings in Streetwise.
Annual membership £27.50.
