WineGlass Farm has been dedicated to the equine business for over 40 years. As<br />
natural athletes WineGlass horses have cross-discipline backgrounds ranging from<br />
polocrosse, distance riding, dressage, jumping and even some calf roping and<br />
reining! Our foundation mares have been performance tested with a minimum of<br />
500 distance riding miles. Soundness, trainability, willing attitude and competitive<br />
ability are genetically determined – all criteria we have used to select our<br />
broodmares.<br />
The addition of our Shagya-<strong>Arabian</strong> stallion *Budapest in 1990 complemented our<br />
foundation mares’ genetic potential. *Budapest brought excellent bone, frame,<br />
movement and personality to the WineGlass program. Today *Budapest progeny<br />
offer the same qualities of toughness, stamina, rideability and courage that made<br />
the ShA horses admired and desired so many years ago on the famous military stud<br />
farms of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. *Budapest is one of the few ShA stallions in<br />
the U.S. to have easily completed the stallion performance standards established by<br />
the International Shagya-<strong>Arabian</strong> Society (ISG). *Budapest is still the only purebred<br />
Shagya-<strong>Arabian</strong> stallion to receive USDF All-Breed recognition.<br />
WineGlass Farm has made one of the biggest importations of new genetics for the<br />
US Shagya-<strong>Arabian</strong> breed in decades. Frozen semen from four outstanding<br />
European stallions is now in the US. The purebred <strong>Arabian</strong> Russian racing stallion<br />
Pagur has a limited number of doses available. He is approved for Shagya-<strong>Arabian</strong>,<br />
Austrian WB, <strong>Arabian</strong> and Trakehner breeding. Doses of the dynamic Shagya-<br />
<strong>Arabian</strong> stallion Dartan offers completely new ShA genetics to the US & Canada in<br />
addition to an excellent sporthorse choice for <strong>Arabian</strong> mares.<br />
