Our youth members are a critical asset for ensuring the future of the Arabianbred
sport horse. Get to know them better with this fun Q&A!
Hallie Anders
Beaumont, TX
What is the name, breed, gender and age of your Arabian-bred sport horse(s)?
DeKourated Dude++/, 18 year old gelding, Maxed in Chocolate+/, 8 year old gelding, Rheverence, 3 year old colt. They are
all Arabian/Pintos.
Which sport horse discipline(s) do you do with
your horse?
Western Dressage and Sport Horse Under Saddle
What was the most fun experience you had with
your horse in 2018?
I would have to say Region 9 championships where
we were Champions in Western Dressage Intro
ATR and Reserve Champions in SHIH ATH. Dude
was in 7 classes and got Champion or Reserve in
all but 1 class.
What sport horse discipline would you like to try
that you haven’t tried yet?
Western Dressage
What is your favorite thing to shop for at the
tack shop?
Clothes are my favorite ...everywhere!
What is your favorite movie with horses and/or favorite movie horse?
The Black Stallion - My horse Maxed in Chocolate+/ is a great x4 grandson of Cass Ole who played The Black in the
movie.
Who is your current instructor or trainer and what is the most important thing you have learned from them?
Annie Wiggins and literally everything! Besides teaching me everything I know about horses, she teaches me to be a better
person every day. She is the first to help anyone she meets, loan spurs, help with a training issue. I watched her help teach
another junior how to ride Western Dressage at Pinto Worlds. The girl was in my same class and it didn't matter because
that's what you do. The rider did very well for her first time and I won my first World Championship in the saddle. In the end
you and your horse are competing against yourselves not the other people. They are there to push you to be better!
What is your favorite competition (show, event, ride) and what makes it special?
I love the Scottsdale Arabian Show. It just shows you how great this horse thing is when we all can get together...so many
horses.
What is your biggest challenge as a rider or competitor?
Staying focused when I train. You really have to train like every lesson is a world competition because you will ride like you
train.
