Jessica began
riding Elated in the
Atlanta Pony Club.
Elated and Jessica
had an absolutely
wonderful time
participating in
numerous rallies,
events, clinics,
Junior Fox hunts,
and shows together
through the Atlanta Pony Club. Jessica rode
her first cross country courses and dressage
tests with Elated.
Elated and Jessica competed in both breed
and open competitions from 1998 - 2006.
Elated's sparky personality, athletic ability,
intelligence, and willingness to work is one in
a million. Every eventer or dressage trainer
that met Elated really admired him and
praised him
for his
athleticism
and his
willingness to
try
everything.
Jessica also
received her
D Pony Club
rating on
Elated.
The bay pony with Elated in this photo taken
at a fox hunting outing is JAG Lady Pegasus,
a Half Arabian pony (aka “Peggy”).
Elated helped "raise" numerous babies
throughout the years. We always wanted his
amazing personality to rub off on them!
Elated's last show was when he was in 2007
in Dressage with Kathy Gilker and he retired
100% sound and happy. He could not have
been a more willing partner for the entire
Gilker family and has enjoyed a well-earned
retirement since then, with an occasional
bareback ride or trail ride around the farm.
He’s still extremely heathy (just old man
teeth), and he still gallops around our hills on
brisk days with his pasture mate!
Pelear Por Oro
(Unknown X Merimba (ox))
2009 gray Arabian-cross gelding
Highest Eventing Level: Novice
Status: Currently competing
Owner/Rider: Brooke Webb
Pelear was given to me by a lovely couple
when I was 14, he was just only 4. I was later
told Pelear was a rescue whose dam was
brought to the rescue after being confiscated
from animal control. Pelear was born at the
rescue not long after they arrived. He was
born with dummy foal syndrome and spent
his first two weeks in an equine hospital.
Pelear pulled through, which is how he got his
name. Pelear means to fight in Spanish, the
rescue thought he earned this name when he
fought for his life to overcome this awful
syndrome.
