MONTGOMERY COUNTY
PARKS AND RECREATION
In Montgomery County, additional
park and recreation services are
available to residents and
guests, including a downtown park
for entertainment and relaxation,
athletic complexes in St. Bethlehem
Civitan Park, Woodlawn Park and
RichEllen Park, along with Rotary
Park - a 111- acre natural area, the
South Guthrie Community Center
and Spur Line Trail, a pocket park
in downtown Clarksville.
CIVITAN PARK
Located at 650 Bellamy Lane,
Civitan Park is a 50-acre
community park, comprised of four
youth softball fields, four youth
baseball fields, a large playground,
two picnic pavilions, 23 regulation
horseshoe pits, a small breed dog
park and shaded outdoor fitness
equipment. The park is home to
St. Bethlehem Little League and
the site of many regional and
national youth sporting events
annually. Additionally, a 25-acre
expansion with three additional
youth baseball/softball fields, a large
multi-purpose practice field, a paved
walking trail, the Rotary Field of
Dreams, and a second large
inclusive playground, designed
and equipped to support citizens
with special needs, will be
completed fall 2019.
DOWNTOWN COMMONS
Situated in the heart of downtown
Clarksville, Downtown Commons is
the newest park in the community.
The Commons encompasses a oneblock
radius that offers a destination
for people to gather, be entertained,
or just relax outdoors. The Commons
hosts a seasonal outdoor ice rink late
fall through mid-winter. In the milder
months the park is bustling with music
concerts, art exhibitions, games,
yoga and other opportunities to bring
people together.
RICHELLEN PARK
This park is located at 1466 State
Route 149 in the southern part of
our county, boasts over 50 acres.
It features eight baseball/softball
fields, one large playground with
two small satellite playgrounds
in the sports complex, paved
walking trails, picnic shelters
and a large banquet hall available
for daily rentals.
ROTARY PARK
Located at 2308 Rotary Park Drive,
Rotary Park, is a 111-acre nature park
located near the Sango area of
Montgomery County. It boasts over
six miles of hiking/biking trails, an
ADA-accessible walking trail, one
large pavilion, two small pavilions,
a playground, an 18-hole disc golf
course, outdoor amphitheater,
scout camping area, outdoor
fitness equipment and rest room
facilities. In an effort to promote
environmental stewardship, trash
receptacles are not located at the
park, so park users must take out
whatever is brought in with them.
Families are encouraged to picnic
in the park, but they are responsible
for taking their trash with them when
they leave. This keeps the park
clean and the surroundings visually
appealing for other visitors.
For hiking and biking enthusiasts,
Rotary Park maintains over six miles
of hiking and biking trails for your
enjoyment. Terrain ranges from
mostly flat and leisurely to fairly steep
and rugged. Horses are not permitted
in the park.
