CIVIL WAR TRAIL<br />

The Civil War left a huge imprint on<br />

Several famed Civil War battlefields<br />

here. Trail markers can be found<br />

at designated points of interest<br />

throughout the city.<br />

CLARKSVILLE GREENWAY<br />

Railroad lines have been converted<br />

into walking <strong>and</strong> biking trails.<br />

This 9-mile paved trail is lined with<br />

trees, benches <strong>and</strong> overlook points.<br />

CLARKSVILLE SPEEDWAY<br />

Open Feb. through Nov. the<br />

speedway offers 1/8-mile drag races.<br />

The speedway is sanctioned by<br />

UMP <strong>and</strong> runs eight different classes<br />

of races. Races are held Fri. <strong>and</strong> Sat.<br />

night weather permitting.<br />

CUMBERLAND RIVERWALK<br />

A 1.5 mile paved promenade along<br />

the Cumberl<strong>and</strong> River, connecting on<br />

the south end to the Upl<strong>and</strong> Trail <strong>and</strong><br />

downtown via a Pedestrian overpass<br />

<strong>and</strong> recently extended on the north<br />

end to parallel the Red River.<br />

CUSTOMS HOUSE MUSEUM<br />

& CULTURAL CENTER<br />

Built in 1898 as an United States<br />

Post Office <strong>and</strong> Customs House for<br />

the flourishing tobacco trade, this<br />

architecturally fascinating structure<br />

is among the most photographed<br />

buildings in the region. The museum<br />

features rotating shows, galleries<br />

<strong>and</strong> a sculpture garden. Permanent<br />

exhibits <strong>and</strong> an interactive children’s<br />
