Creative Digital Media<br />
Production BTEC Level 3<br />
Course length: 2 years | Code: 4000<br />
Entry requirements<br />
• 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English<br />
& maths. If you do not have grade 4 (C) or above in both<br />
subjects, the minimum for the other subject is grade 3 (D).<br />

A full Level 2 at Pass grade or above with maths &<br />
English grades equivalent to those stated above.<br />
Students with grade 3 (D) in either English or maths will be<br />
expected to re-take that subject in Year 1.<br />
• Demonstrate creative flair at your interview<br />
and be highly motivated with a keen interest<br />
in graphic design, photography and/or moving<br />
image.<br />
• Attend a ‘taster’ session to find out more.<br />
About the course<br />
On this challenging and exciting course, the focus is<br />
on graphic design, photography and moving image.<br />
You will work on mul<strong>time</strong>dia design projects to<br />
develop your practical skills in a variety of areas.<br />
These include graphic design, typography, web<br />
design, photography and image manipulation, video<br />
production and 2D animation. You will undertake<br />
research and written work relating to media<br />
theory. You develop your abilities with industry<br />
standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite 6<br />
(Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and<br />
Premier). In addition, you gain vital experience of<br />
working to a professional brief with employers.<br />
Your future<br />
After the course, you can study at college or<br />
university at a higher level, or use the skills and<br />
experience you have gained to progress further in<br />
your career in industries such as graphic design,<br />
animation, photography and more.<br />

About the course<br />
Are you creative and love games and gaming?<br />
Develop your skills and experience using a variety of<br />
industry standard software which can also be applied<br />
to Architecture and Marketing. You will learn 2D & 3D<br />
modelling and animation, as well as using specialist<br />
software including Adobe Flash & Adobe Photoshop.<br />
You study games consoles - PS4, Xbox One & Wii.<br />
You will also work to a professional brief from a<br />
client/local employer to promote their product.<br />
Games students visit industry events like EGX, the<br />
UK’s largest gaming convention.<br />
Your future<br />
After the course, you can study at college or<br />
university at a higher level in Games Design, or use<br />
the skills and experience you have gained to progress<br />
further in your career in the games or mul<strong>time</strong>dia<br />
