Entry requirements
• 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English
& maths. If you do not have grade 4 (C) or above in both
subjects, the minimum for the other subject is grade 3 (D).
or
A full Level 2 at Pass grade or above with maths &
English grades equivalent to those stated above.
Students with grade 3 (D) in either English or maths will be
expected to re-take that subject in Year 1.
• Demonstrate creative flair at your interview
and be highly motivated with a keen interest
in graphic design, photography and/or moving
image.
• Attend a ‘taster’ session to find out more.
About the course
On this challenging and exciting course, the focus is
on graphic design, photography and moving image.
You will work on multimedia design projects to
develop your practical skills in a variety of areas.
These include graphic design, typography, web
design, photography and image manipulation, video
production and 2D animation. You will undertake
research and written work relating to media
theory. You develop your abilities with industry
standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite 6
(Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and
Premier). In addition, you gain vital experience of
working to a professional brief with employers.
Your future
After the course, you can study at college or
university at a higher level, or use the skills and
experience you have gained to progress further in
your career in industries such as graphic design,
animation, photography and more.

have experience in art & graphics. It is also an
advantage if you have experience/knowledge
of using Adobe Photoshop, 3D Design or Adobe
Flash animation.

About the course
Are you creative and love games and gaming?
Develop your skills and experience using a variety of
industry standard software which can also be applied
to Architecture and Marketing. You will learn 2D & 3D
modelling and animation, as well as using specialist
software including Adobe Flash & Adobe Photoshop.
You study games consoles - PS4, Xbox One & Wii.
You will also work to a professional brief from a
client/local employer to promote their product.
Games students visit industry events like EGX, the
UK’s largest gaming convention.
Your future
After the course, you can study at college or
university at a higher level in Games Design, or use
the skills and experience you have gained to progress
further in your career in the games or multimedia
industries.
