YOUR HOSPITAL APPOINTMENT – DO YOU NEED TRANSPORT?
South Woodham Ferrers Community Care
is a local charity which provides a door to door service to take South Woodham residents, who have difficulty arranging their own
transport, to medical appointments, normally within the Basildon, Chelmsford, Braintree and Maldon area.
It is not intended as a transport service to local doctors' surgeries at The Crouch Vale Medical Centre.
Transport is provided by a pool of drivers.
How it works
Patient calls the Community Care Co-ordinator SANDRA 01245 321180 to request transport giving as much notice as possible.
Co-ordinator arranges a driver from the pool and rings the patient to advise of the driver's name and pick-up time.
On the day - the driver takes the patient to the appointment and waits for them before taking them home.
Patient puts a voluntary contribution in an envelope and gives to the driver.
There are suggested contribution rates, depending on the distance of the appointment, but it is entirely up to the patient.
The envelope is then forwarded to the Community Care Treasurer.

will be FREE parking in
all Maldon town centre
pay and display car
parks on Saturday 14
December, Saturday 21
December, and
*Christmas Eve,
Tuesday 24 December.
The Council hopes that
everyone will take
advantage of these
FREE parking days in
the run up to the
festive season to help
support and boost the
economy of the town.
*Please note, the
Council Offices Car
park in Princes Road,
will NOT be available
for use until after 12.30
on Christmas Eve -
Tuesday 24 December.
Normal charges will
apply at all other times
and in Promenade
Park during these
periods.
