With the huge support of many local businesses, suppliers and the

rehabilitation following his lifechanging stroke earlier this year.
On the 7th September 2019 Alistair Black combined their 40th
Anniversary with fundraising for Geoff. It was a fun-filled day
supported by Radio Essex and a face painter, Chris Colmans

bandstand and Katie and her family selling sweets and balloons on
their table outside of Asda.

Rotary & Inner Wheel learned that there was a UK based water and
sanitation charity that works to improve the lives of people across
Africa and Asia.
An extremely popular charity, with a fiercely loyal supporter base,
they've seen huge growth since starting in 2010.
Both Clubs wished to support the work being done.
It seems hard to believe today that some 2.3 billion people have
no access to sanitation.
Toilet Twinning is an initiative which invites people to "twin" their
own toilet with latrines in poor communities (an analogy with the
twin towns and sister cities movement). This is a way of raising
funds to enable people in the poorest nations and in desperate
poverty to have clean water and a proper toilet, and to learn about
hygiene, a vital combination that saves lives.

DAWN WOOD AND HER ATLANTIC ROW
Dawn came to the SWF Rotary Club to share with us the experiences she endured when rowing single handed across the Atlantic
Ocean. She did this in order to demonstrate to Governments of the world how much plastic finds it way into the oceans and how it
damages the ecosystems of our oceans.
She has been extremely impressed with the Rotary and Inner Wheel responses both here in the UK and in Barbados to assist her quest
to reduce plastic pollution.
It seemed totally inconceivable that she saw discarded plastic material floating around in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!!
We have been informed as a part of the movement towards a green economy and in its goal to have Barbados plastic-free by 2020,
the Barbados government has placed a ban on single-use plastics.
Dawn thanked Rotary and Inner Wheel members, most sincerely for the assistance with her Challenge and hoped with our help the
scourge of discarded plastic in our oceans which has such a devastating impact on the marine ecosystem, may become a thing of the
past.
We could not have let this occasion of her visit go without presenting her with examples of her diet during the expedition as in the
photo above of dry pot noodle.
The club also could not let this meeting go by without marking support for her charity “Marine Conservation Society” with a cheque
which was presented to Dawn by Rotary President Eric Johnson as above.

Outstanding NHS staff
recognised at Mid Essex
Hospitals’ awards
The black-tie event, held at Stock Brook Manor, saw trophies
awarded across ten categories including Hospital Hero - which was
voted for by patients and members of the public – and
Outstanding Service.
Winners included bereavement midwife Tabitha Stuthridge - who
has also recently been nominated for a national Butterfly Award,
the frailty team for the innovative work with frail and elderly
patients, and healthcare assistant Nicola White who last year lit up
Broomfield Hospital pink and blue to raise awareness around baby
loss.
There was also a presentation to
former Mayor of Chelmsford
Yvonne Spence who raised a
magnificent £87,000 during her
year in office for the hospital’s
dementia project and Kids
Inspire. Eight long-serving
members of staff were also
honoured for having completed
25 years with the Trust.
Mid Essex Hospitals’ managing
director Jane Farrell said: “We
see many patients coming
through our doors on a daily
basis, and the proof of the care
we are providing was shown by
the standard of nominations at
these awards. Individual
members of staff and clinical
teams were recognised for doing
something special that was
above and beyond the expected
level of care.
“Well done to everyone who was
either shortlisted or a winner on
the night. It was a fantastic
achievement to be nominated
and one they should all be very
proud of.”

Evita - Chelmsford Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society at the Civic Theatre
(26th September 2019)
Review by Cheryl Jennings
seductive when danced by Perón and Eva. The way that ‘The Art
of the Possible’ was staged, to portray Perón competing for
power with the generals, was certainly different but didn’t quite
come off, being a little on the slap stick side.
All in all though this was a very watchable production and it was a
joy to hear all the fabulous music. CAODS made a good job of
presenting this difficult show and while those of us who are
familiar with the stage and film versions might be a little more
critical of certain aspects, there’s no denying the enjoyment that
the audience and cast derived from this performance and
congratulations must go to the company for taking on such an
ambitious show. We are fortunate that we have a local amateur
company that will take on a challenge, it can never be said that
CAODS shirk at something demanding and Shrek is their next
production which promises to be very exciting!
Evita is a much acclaimed musical by Andrew Lloyd-Webber and
Tim Rice. It was first performed in London in 1978 starring Elaine
Page and David Essex winning the Laurence Olivier Award for best
musical and later transferred to Broadway to become the first
British musical to win a Tony award. This success was eventually
followed by a film in 1996 starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas
and there have been regular revivals over the intervening years to
the present day.
This outstanding musical is set in Argentina and tells the story of
the life of Eva Duarte, from age fifteen in 1934. She was one of
five children from a poor background who basically slept her way
to the top, finally ensnaring Colonel Juan Perón, an ambitious
military colonel and eventually becoming First Lady of Argentina
when he is elected president. On the way she wins the adoration
of the poor, who she supports and finances, practically bringing
the country to bankruptcy in the process. The story is told through
the cynical eyes of Che, an activist member of the public.

The whole musical is what’s known as a sung-through, there is no
spoken dialogue so it’s an extremely difficult task to make sense
of the complicated plot. This is a huge undertaking for an amateur
society and CAODS certainly made a good fist of it. The set was
effective with excellent lighting, making it all look very
atmospheric. This show is one big sing for Evita, played by Sammy-
Jo Evans and she certainly had the voice to carry off this iconic role.
Her songs were sung with vigour and confidence, she managed
‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’ effortlessly, and gave excellent
renditions of all the numbers that fans of this musical love so much
and know so well. I felt that her acting was not as strong, the
manipulative nature and seductive charisma of Evita was not shown
to full effect in this portrayal, though whether this was down to the
inexperience of Sammy-Jo or the direction, it’s difficult to say. It is
without doubt a demanding role for an amateur. There was no such
problem for David Everest-Ring who took the part of Che. He was
on stage practically the whole way through and had an enormous
amount of music to learn. He was spot on with his timing and
singing, I enjoyed ‘High Flying Adored’, always a favourite with the
audience, and he gave the role his own touch. Undeniably the best
performer in this production, he deserved his appreciative
applause at the end and the praise for his performance that I heard
many people express afterwards. John Sullivan as Juan Perón had
obviously worked hard on his character, I especially enjoyed ‘Dice
Are Rolling’ (‘The Money Kept Rolling In’). Natasha Lesley, as the
mistress of Perón, also gave a very nice performance of ‘Another
Suitcase, Another Hall’. Michael Bardo sang well as Magaldi, the
heartthrob tango singer. The chorus sounded good and coped
with singing the difficult music in Spanish and Latin apparently with
no problem, their voices blended beautifully in the harmonies.
I wasn’t sure about some of the dancing, the tango moves weren’t
quite convincing when done by the chorus and needed to be more

Dear Sirs,
I have been reading with interest the ongoing correspondence

It appears that we are about to get a KFC that the majority of the

Just along the road from this is the new medical centre which the

Therefore I have a question for our councillors at all levels, You are

Considering all of the above what exactly is the point of you?

Saturday 14th September, WFSC hosted another round of the Essex
Mini League competitions. 34 swimmers represented the club and
they managed to score their highest points ever in one evening.
Many club records were broken and some nail-biting finishes which
raised the roof as the atmosphere soared. We won a record
number of races too which is all proving that WFSC are firmly
making their mark in Essex. And then on Saturday 28/29
September, 9 swimmers travelled to the Basildon Sporting Village
to compete in an open meet trying to secure their places in the
Essex County Championships to be held at the London Aquatic
Centre in 2020. 3 swimmers so far have secured their positions,
Ben Podd, Jack Hatch and Lucas Deans. Harley Fairman and Lucas

HEALTH INITIATIVES - 'Bonking Boris' has set out a £13 billion plan
for 40 new hospitals to replace old and out-dated buildings. The Prime
Minister told The Sunday Telegraph that the Government was
embarking on "the biggest programme of hospital building in a
generation". He said the plan was beginning with a £2.7 billion cash
injection for six hospitals over the next five years.
Perhaps he should think about replacing the aged St Peters Hospital
which was built in 1873 as a workhouse ... ideally putting it somewhere
that is easily accessible.
Amongst a slew of promises to improve the NHS, Laura Donnelly
reports in the DT that: "More than 300 diagnostic machines will be
funded across the country, in a bid to replace outdated MRI machines,
CT scans and breast screening equipment with “cutting edge”
technology. The funding follows a Government pledge to improve
diagnosis of cancer, with Britain bottom of international league tables
for cancer survival."
Australia is streets ahead of us when it comes to five year cancer
survival rates ... so, whilst there have been improvements here, we
have a lot further to go.
A mother asks her son: "Anton, do you think I’m a bad Mum?"
Son: "My name is Paul."
CANCER SUCCESS. More than half of patients can now survive a
deadly skin cancer that was considered untreatable just a decade ago,
says the BBCs James Gallagher - who goes on to say: "Ten years ago
only one-in-20 patients would live for five years after being diagnosed
with late-stage melanoma. Most would die in months. But drugs to
harness the body's immune system mean 52% now live for at least five
years, a clinical trial shows."
This has been described as an extraordinary and rapid transformation
in care.
JG goes on to talk about the way the new drugs work:
"Immunotherapy is Nobel Prize-winning science that is making the
untreatable treatable. Ipilimumab and nivolumab both stop some
cancers from hiding and allow the immune system to attack. They
interrupt the chemical signals that cancers use to put the brakes on
the immune system."
In the bad old days, when there was often quite a delay if you
preferred patients to hospital, I used to remove any easily resectable
melanoma I saw within 24 hours on the basis that it might decide to
go on its travels if it was left ... and it was the spread to distant parts
of the body that's the big problem with these tumours. The results
were excellent - though I say it myself - but fortunately the service
provided by specialists is far more readily available these days so such
cancers are best referred.
As ever, prevention is better than cure - Google 'NHS preventing
melanoma' for advice.
When it comes to another common cancer, there is guarded optimism
for Olaparib, a drug that according to a BBC report "could become a
revolutionary treatment for prostate cancer - the first genetically
targeted drug for fighting the disease. "
The drug, which is already in use in the UK for ovarian cancer, has been
called a game-changer. The Beeb reports that it has been shown in
trials to slow tumour growth in men with advanced prostate cancer -
adding: " Olaparib, also called Lynparza, works by targeting and killing
cancer cells with faulty genetic code, while sparing normal cells with
healthy DNA. It won't work for everyone with prostate cancer, but it
is effective for some men with the disease."
So this is not a 'here and now' treatment - but it is a 'watch this space'
development as 'tailor made' therapies are a very a useful additional
weapon in the armamentarium.
I don’t think women should be allowed to have kids after 40. 40 kids
is way too much by any standards.
HANCOCK GETS TOUGH. One policy which has received a lot of
coverage during 'conference season' is the Health Secretary's
suggestion that the government could get heavy in a bid to tackle
falling vaccination rates. Peter Walker reports in The Guardian that
"The government is 'looking very seriously' at making vaccinations
compulsory for state school pupils and has taken advice on how such
a law could work."
He goes on to say: "Matt Hancock, a vehement critic of antivaccination
campaigners, has previously suggested such a plan.
Speaking at a fringe event at the Conservative party conference, he
said he was “very worried” by falling vaccination rates, indicating the
government could act soon.
Walker points out that "The UK has lost its official measles-free country
status from the World Health Organization after a gradual fall in rates
of MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) immunisation. Hancock said that
vaccination rates below 95% lost the so-called herd immunity effect,
and thus put at risk children unable to be vaccinated, for example
those undergoing treatment for cancer."
Hancock added: “You’ve got to make sure the system would work,
because some children can’t be vaccinated and some may hold very
strong religious convictions that you’d want to take into account, but
frankly, the proportion of people in either of these categories is tiny,
compared to the 7% or 8% now who don’t get vaccinated.”
To hear the another side to the argument, listen to the wonderful
Margaret McCartney examining the evidence on the 25th September
edition of Inside Health on BBC Radio 4. Download it at
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0008nxz
I ran into my ex in town yesterday. Then I ran over him and backed

IMPORTANT JAB FOR 'FRESHERS'. At a time of year when many
students have waved farewell to their tearful Mums and headed off to
university for the first time it's worth all concerned double checking
that they've had the jabs they need. UCAS advises that "Meningitis is
a life-threatening disease that can affect anyone, but young people
and students are at particularly high risk. A free MenACWY vaccine is
available to first year students up to the age of 25 through their GP.
This vaccine and knowing the symptoms of meningitis is the best
protection against this devastating disease, which can resemble the
flu or a hangover and so is often ignored until it’s too late."
Universities these days tend to be pretty good at picking up anyone
who has slipped through the net ... and students are encouraged to
register with a nearby GP so there is every opportunity to catch up on
missed jabs. For more details see:

ASTHMA IN ADULTS. There is good news for people whose asthma
is hard to treat. An esteemed journal called 'The Lancet' says that a
"Three-in-one inhaler therapy can improve lung function and reduce
asthma attacks" ... adding "Patients with severe asthma which is not
controlled with standard treatment – leaving them at risk of severe
asthma attacks – could benefit from using a single inhaler combining
three, instead of two therapies, according to high quality trials with
over 2,500 patients across 17 countries.
I'm glad to see that combination inhalers are now lauded by the
'experts' as they make treating the condition so much easier for
patients. One of the earliest was derided - it was called Ventide - as it
was a combination of Ventolin (aka salbutamol) and Becotide (aka
beclometasone.) The cognoscenti didn't like fixed dose combinations
as they're inflexible and they thought the puffers should be used
separately. As a 'non-expert' I thought combinations had a place as
the problem with e.g. young patients was that the 'preventer' didn't
have an immediate effect - so they stopped using puffers like Becotide
- and overused relievers (i.e. puffers like Ventolin which had an
immediate beneficial effect.) This put them at risk - and, although
Ventide wasn't the greatest combination in the history of the universe
(as demonstrated by the fact that I haven't seen it used for a long, long
time) it did mean that those whose asthma was deteriorating got a bit
of 'preventer' which probably saved quite a few hospital admissions -
and may even have saved a life or two.

A Reflection
Every year on 4th October the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi, known
and beloved by so many people of all faiths throughout the world. For some, he is a garden saint, the statue
holding the birdbath, for others Francis is the saint who loves and blesses animals; and yet again, he is seen
as the man of peace. Bu, however we consider Francis of Assisi, he is a saint who is attractive to us, someone
we feel comfortable with. And this should come as no surprise because even during his lifetime, some 800
years ago, he attracted many thousands of men and women to follow his particular spiritual path through
life which always led to Jesus Christ. The appeal of Saint Francis of Assisi lies in the fact that his chosen way
of life, cheerful poverty and cheerful penance, enabled him to be an honest witness to Our Lord; so much
so in fact that a number of Popes have dubbed him as “the most Christ-like Saint” that has ever lived on earth. Through his
example, we are able to see, not so much Francis of Assisi, but Jesus Christ.
By the Grace of God, Francis could see that everything came from the hand of the Almighty, everything was gift from the Creator.
From the tiny grains of sand, to the powerful forces of nature which made rocks into sand; from tiny plants and wiggly worms,
to elephants and whales; from the vastness of the cosmos, to the complexities of men and women. But Francis saw that the
greatest of God’s Gifts was His only Son, Jesus Christ, given to us because He loved the World so much. Indeed, Francis gradually
became aware of the enormity and extravagant nature of God’s love for us through the life and especially the death of Jesus; for
God knew it would be impossible for us ever to return a love equal to His; He knew we could never fully understand or appreciate
His love, and God knew too that sometimes we would not even bother to try to love Him back or share that love with others,
that we would even turn our backs on Him. But, through His conception in Mary’s womb, God had not only fully committed
Himself to frail humanity but had also become our brother.
Awareness of God’s great love for him as his brother caused Francis to fall so much in love with Jesus Christ that he wanted to
be like Him in every way. Because Christ purposely chose to be poor so that everyone could approach Him, Francis became poor;
because Christ deliberately led a life of hard work and suffering to reassure us that He understood our difficulties, Francis also
lived that kind of life. Let us ask Saint Francis of Assisi to help us to be more grateful to God for the beauty and wonders of
creation and to have a greater trust in His love for us.

1st XV vs Norwich - Saturday 28th September 2019
SOUTH WOODHAM FERRERS FOOTBALL RFC
South Woodhams second home game of the season ended in disappointment as
they went down to London 2 North East league leaders Norwich 16 point to 27.
The lads will be frustrated as they led right up into the 70th minute when ill -
discipline and some slack defending handed the advantage back to the visitors in
what had been a very tight game of good end-to-end rugby.
The opening exchanges offered little for the spectators with both defences
snuffing out any attack that came their way. Woodham were unfortunate to lose
captain Lewis Gilbert, fly half Terry Stiffell and in form prop Tate Holliday to injuries;
leaving the bench empty with only a quarter of the match gone.
It was Woodham who opened the scoring with a well worked try finished by
Warren Duggan. The conversion was missed. However, the home side were able
to extend their lead after a promising attack resulted in a penalty scored by Jamie
Cox. The half ended with Woodham on top with an 8 pointy advantage.
An extremely slow start from the home side saw Norwich score two converted
tries before the lads woke from their slumbers to get back in the game. It was game on when Woodham broke out of their own half to
score a fine running try from the backs, winger Alex Baker touching down.
Jamie Cox added an extra three when Woodham were awarded another penalty, with just 15 minutes of the game left the home side led
16 points to 14.
What followed was a period of implosion as the home side handed the game back to Norwich. First, they gave away a soft penalty which
was compounded by some stupid back chat that brought the kick within range of the posts, Norwich took advantage and made it a twopoint
game.
The same error was repeated shortly after and Norwich were handed the lead as, again, poor discipline saw the ref march a penalty on
10 more yards to make the kick easy. It also saws Stevie Hurrell sin binned leaving a gap in the defence for the closing few moments of
the game.
Norwich put the game out of reach of the home side with a try straight from the kick-off.
The positive to take away for the home team is that, despite losing key players early on, they more than held their own against an
extremely physical and well drilled Norwich side that are flying high at the moment. On the down sided they let themselves down as
poor discipline handed the game to the opposition undoing all of the hard work that had gone before.
Under 16’s vs Basildon - Sunday28th September 2019
This weekend saw the U16’s kick off the season waterfall cup with an opener away at Basildon. With this also being the boys first match
of the season following the dry off by Benfleet last week, it would be good to see how the boys would put training into practice.
Basildon won the toss and selected to have the wind advantage and put Woodham forward to start the match. The nerves were evident
as the visitors gave away a couple of early knock ons, but all in the home sides half.
In the 3rd minute Woodham had a good break from the breakdown, with the ball shipped from No 8 Gerrard out through the 9, Jim,
along the backs to bullet on the wing who opened his legs to cross the line. However, the ref had blown for a forward pass on the home
sides 5m line.
From the scrum the hosts pushed back the Woodham side and a kick deep into the Woodham 22 saw the visitors scrabbling back to halt
the attack. Woods managed to shut down the home side winning a penalty for not releasing. However, Woods gave the ball away for
the same infringement on their 22, and the hosts too full advantage securing the 1st Try of the match on 11 minutes. The conversation
was missed, 5 – 0.
From the restart, Woodham chased deep into the home teams half. Woodham forced an error at the breakdown and were awarded with
a penalty for not releasing. Rhino pushed the ball into the side line for the Woodham Line Out on the home sides 22.
Basildon won the line out, and with Woodham being too narrow in the defence, allowed the home side to push forward. A nicely timed
up field kick, chased down by both H and Travis, Basildon crossed over for their second of the match under the posts. The conversion
was good and Basildon extended their lead, 12 – 0.
From the restart Woodham get the knock on advantage but were unable to make anything of it, they came back for the scrum. Woodham
try a quick kick up field, the home side run out of space and Woodham win a scrum for off side. Woods win the ball but get pinged for
not releasing at the breakdown.
Woodham win the scrum, and again try the chip through, but the home side ground the ball to win the 22 Drop. The kick goes straight
to Redmond who makes a good 20m into the home side half before being stopped. Scrum awarded to Basildon. Basildon kick from the
scrum and chase through to pick up the ball. H brilliantly covers with a tackle stopping the attack.
The visitors win a line out, and put on a driving maul. The ball goes out to the Basildon backline and almost drive over but Woods
somehow manage to push Basildon out. Woods again leaving too much space on the wings allow Basildon to cross again and with the

conversion 19 – 0. More of the same again from the visitors, with several line outs before Basildon cross again for the end of the first
half. With the conversion the half time score stood at 26 – 0.
The second half saw more of the same. Woodham leaving too much space on the wing and the home side cross inside the first minute
of the restart. With the conversion 34 – 0. Woodham suffered a loss of H on the 39th minute following a knock to the head, removed
for assessment, and both sides dropped to 14 players.
Basildon scored from the restart, and again the conversion was good. 41 – 0. Basildon win a scrum from restart, and getting the ball
out to their backs again using the space on the wing, with Nathan unlucky in the cover tackle, cross for the final try of the game. The
conversion missed the final score 46 – 0 to Basildon.
Thanks to the new lads, Hugo and Riley for joining the game today, and their first outing for Woodham. Player of the match for Woodham
went to Rhino for hard work and great tackling.
Under 16’s vs Harlow – 21st September
Under 16’s vs Rochford – 29th September
The start to the 2019 season has seen them have a good win in the league v Harlow (44-14) and first cup round success against Rochford
(26-10).
The first game of the season is always a nervous affair but this year they started well at Harlow scoring 7 tries (Joe 4, Max 1, Josh 1, Tom
1; conversions Mason 2, Harrison 2, Ryan 1) with 2 tries against. Both sides played really well, with good running rugby a key feature
from both sides, however, Woodham worked well in defence to keep Harlow down to scoring just 2 tries.
Their game against Rochford was a very physical affair which saw the home side play within their own 22 for the first 15 minutes but
again the defence held well and then started to push the visitors back up the field for the rest of the half which eventually ended with
Woodham registering the only score of the half with a converted try. The second half saw Woodham start to exert themselves over
Rochford with a further 2 tries to make it 21-0 before an exchange of tries made it 26-5 and with a few minutes to go Rochford scored
the final try of the match. Scorers for Woodham were, Tries; Zach 3, Joe 1, conversions Will C 3.
Both games have seen Woodham keep a good defence, all the lads playing for one another and putting the effort in to secure a good
team performance. The next fixture is away to Rochford, this time in the league, in two weeks’ time. If it is anything like this week’s
match it will be another excellent game of rugby.
Under 12’s vs Epping- Sunday28th September 2019
With a squad of 14 players, the Under 12s played a nervous season opener away to Epping and Upper Clapton. Fielding three new
players, Woodham took a little time to wake up on this wet and windy Sunday morning. Epping took the kick off and scored an early
try. Good tackles were made but some bunching seemed to hamper our team. After a knock on, the first scrum was given to SWFRUFC.
Some crunching tackles were made by Kenny B, Josh and Charlie but still Epping managed to score. Alfie made a darting run yet Epping
maintained a good defence. Yet another tackle by Kenny earned a turnover but the Epping managed to win it back, going over twice
more before half-time. Half-score: 4-0.
Epping were a sizeable opposition but the Woodham boys put up a good defence with Jack C rucking over well. All of a sudden, Alfie
had the ball and sprinted close to the try line. Unfortunately, the ball was lost forward. Epping took the turnover and promptly scored
again. Twice. Josh then made a kick, chased it down and raced to the try line. TRY! This brought a few smiles to the boys' faces. With
another two tries to Epping and a blood replacement for Dan, it seemed that the game was nearly over, when Byron nimbly dodged a
few tackles and made it over the try line to make the final score 8-2.
It was a good clean game and a fine first run out for Jack B, Jared and Kenny. In the post-match debrief , the boys said they needed to
work on rucking, tackling and communication.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: earned by Kenny B for his strength in the timely tackles he made this week.
Squad: Alfie, Archie, Byron (C), Charlie, Dan, Felix, Jack C, Jack B, Jake, Jared, Josh, Kenny B, Kenny R, Tom.
Under 10's vs Epping - Sunday28th September 2019
We're off again...............first match of the season. Away to Epping Upper Clapton.
The squad was Alfie, Brad, Ellis, Hayden, Katie, Keith, Luca, Mikey, Noah.
New Laws came into play for the U10 age grade, rucking, mauling and uncontested scrums.
The players got straight into it. Some big hits and drives forward. We weren't short of effort, or skill.
At times the ball was there to be played, and Epping were a bit sharper to get to, and contest the breakdown.
This gave them some better ball than we had. They used the ball well and got to the wider channels before us.
We played four quarters and got better each time. Some of the stand out moments were Katie ripping the ball from the Epping players,
Luca ( and everyone ! ) making big tackles, Ellis providing go forward and Keith getting over ruck ball.
The referee let play flow, and we got stronger and more confident. The fourth quarter saw us tire against Epping who had almost double
our numbers.
Great effort all round, sleep will come easy tonight.
If you are interested in playing rugby with us call Gerry on 07880 498565.
