Patient Associations from 8 Countries Met in Istanbul
8 Ülkenin Hasta Dernekleri İstanbul’da Bir Araya Geldi
Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS), a pioneer in bringing
immuno-oncological treatments to the country,
participated in the Oncology Patient Advocacy Group
Forum on December 3-4, 2019. The Forum that saw
participation of 31 associations from eight countries
in the CEETII region was hosted in Turkey for the first
time. The theme of this year’s Forum, where important
projects to further improve patient associations and
become a beacon of hope for patients were discussed,
was R.I.S.E. Against Cancer.
Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS), which operates with the
mission of raising survival rates and quality of life
expectations, participated in the 5th Oncology Patient
Advocacy Group Forum for the Central & Eastern Europe,
Russia, Turkey, Israel & India Regions on December 3-4,
2019 at Istanbul Hilton Maslak. The theme of the Forum,
which saw participation of 31 patient associations from
eight countries including Turkey, Greece, Czech Republic,
Hungary, Romania, Russia, Israel and Poland, was R.I.S.E.
Against Cancer.
In this important forum, where many potential projects
that aim to raise patient awareness were discussed
and participants from different patient associations
exchanged information, the concepts of ‘role,’
‘innovation,’ ‘strategy’ and ‘empathy’ that make up the
initials in the word ‘R.I.S.E.’ were addressed in detail. The
latest scientific developments, strategic collaborations,
building empathy with patients throughout the process,
and the role and importance of patient associations were
also discussed for future activities.
İmmüno-onkolojik tedavilerin ülkemize
kazandırılmasında öncü bir rol üstlenen Bristol-Myers
Squibb (BMS), 3-4 Aralık tarihlerinde ilk kez Türkiye’de
gerçekleştirilen CEETII bölgesinden 8 farklı ülkeden 31
hasta derneğinin de katılım gösterdiği 5. Onkoloji Hasta
Derneği Zirvesi’ne katıldı.
Hasta derneklerini daha da geliştirecek, hastalara umut
ışığı olacak, birbirinden önemli projelerin bir araya
geldiği zirvenin bu yılki temasını R.I.S.E Against Cancer
oluşturdu.
Kanser alanında sağkalım ve yaşam kalitesi beklentilerini
yükseltmek için çalışmalar yürüten Bristol-Myers Squibb
(BMS), 3-4 Aralık tarihlerinde İstanbul Hilton Maslak’ta
düzenlenen Orta & Doğu Avrupa, Rusya, Türkiye, İsrail
& Hindistan bölgesi 5. Onkoloji Hasta Derneği Zirvesi’ne
katılım gösterdi. Türkiye’nin yanı sıra Yunanistan, Çek
Cumhuriyeti, Macaristan, Romanya, Rusya, İsrail ve
Polonya olmak üzere toplam 8 farklı ülkeden 31 hasta
derneğinin katıldığı zirvenin teması R.I.S.E Against Cancer
oldu.
Hastalar için farkındalık yaratmak adına geliştirilecek
birçok projenin görüşüldüğü ve farklı ülkelerin hasta
derneklerinden katılımcıların birbirini beslediği bu önemli
zirvede, ‘rol’, ‘yenilik’, ‘strateji’ ve ‘empati’ kavramlarını
barındıran R.I.S.E kelimesinin ayrıntıları üzerinde
konuşuldu. Önümüzdeki dönemde yapılacak çalışmalarda;
son bilimsel gelişmeler, stratejik iş birlikleri, hastaların
yaşadıkları süreç boyunca onlarla empati kurulması ve
hasta derneklerinin rolü ve önemi paylaşıldı.
