A word from the Principal...
Welcome,
This week has made me especially proud to be the Principal of Ludgvan School for a couple of reasons.
The first being receiving a letter from the Minister of State for School Standards, Nick Gibb, congratulating
us on the excellent outcomes our Y6 children achieved last year. In particular, the progress
that our children made between Y2 and Y6, placed in the top 3% of schools in the whole
country, meaning that our children made more progress than over 20,000 other primary schools.
This is fantastic, as there are lots of schools that achieve excellent results, but it is the progress that
the children make from their individual starting points that I feel is particularly important. I would
like to thank all of the staff for their continued hard work and all of the families and friends for their
support.
The second moment that made me proud this
week was watching our Youth Speaks team
present at their first ever competition this week.
Not only was it the first time that this team had
spoken in a public competition, but they were the
first Youth Speak team that Ludgvan School have
ever had! They conducted themselves brilliantly,
presenting a 7min speech in front of an audience
of over 50 people, including judges and competitors. What I was most impressed about was how
their presentation was completely written by the children themselves and then they only used
prompt cards for their delivery, well done Samuel, Isaac and Alfie.
