EYFS
The Early Years children have had
an extremely busy week learning all
about Chinese New Year. They had
fun exploring a range of activities and
learning the meaning behind them.
Kung Hei Fat Choy! The children learnt
how to say Happy New Year.
The class made Chinese lanterns to
drive off bad luck. They learnt that red
is a good luck colour and they made
and exchanged red envelopes for their
friends.
Every year is represented by one of
the 12 animals and 2020 is the Chinese
Year of the rat. They explored
Chinese symbols and Dragon dancing!!
We even had the opportunity to
taste some Chinese food.
Y6
This week, Year 6 went on a fact
finding search around our classroom
where there were hidden facts about
a real-life female spy in World War
One. They were amazed by how courageous
she was and loved the idea
of being a ‘spy’. They will now type up
their own fact files about her and will
create a short video to inform others.
