Tree For All<br />

Singapore’s answer to Central<br />

Park now has more than just<br />

flowers and trees to feast your<br />

eyes on. The new observation<br />

deck at Gardens by the Bay<br />

offers rare unobstructed views<br />

of the cityscape. The 50-metre<br />

tall Supertree Observatory,<br />

which opened to the public in<br />

December, features a lower airconditioned<br />

deck topped by an<br />

open-air circular rooftop where<br />

views of the <strong>Mar</strong>ina Bay area<br />

unfurl into the distance. The<br />

lower deck also boasts a café<br />

and outdoor walkway with video<br />

panels providing information on<br />

the effects of climate change.<br />

Tickets range from S$5 to<br />

Located in the middle of the prime shopping district, Ji Hotel<br />

HISTORY AT HAND<br />

The Malaysian Chinese Museum brims<br />

with all you need to know about the<br />

history, culture and heritage of Chinese<br />

Malaysians. Opened just over a year<br />

ago, this treasure trove located on<br />

the outskirts of the city reveals the<br />

legacy, struggles and sacrifices made<br />

by the country’s Chinese migrants.<br />

The museum houses 15 galleries with<br />

over 1,000 artefacts and documents<br />

sourced from around the region, each<br />

shedding light on the progress of the<br />

community and its role in building<br />

the nation. Admission is 5 ringgit for<br />

students, 20 ringgit for adults. Open<br />
