‘L’onde circulaire’ C'est la mémoire du jour de pluie qui a
été activée lorsque j'ai vu cette image inspirante. Enfant, les
jours de pluie réunissaient souvent les femmes de la famille
élargie en cercle, cousant à la main, tricotant, partageant,
une vague circulaire.
'Circular Wave’ It was the rainy day memory that was
activated when I saw this inspirational image. As a child
rainy days often brought extended family women together
in a circle, hand stitching, knitting, sharing, and a circular
wave.

Le ciel très sombre allant du gris bleu au bleu foncé,
semblant se fondre avec la mer, m’a fait penser à la toile
jeans. J’ai récupéré de vieux jeans, déchiré des bandes,
conservé certains fils de trame que j’ai appliqués, etc. Le
cercle central est constitué de matières diverses, gaze,
papiers déchirés, fibres de soie, etc.
The very dark sky ranging from blue-grey to dark blue,
seems to melt with the sea; it made me think of … jeans.
My work is made from old jeans, torn into strips with some
of the weft threads retained. The central circle uses various
materials, gauze, torn paper, silk fibres, etc.
