In summer, Cape Town attracts<br />
kitesurfers from around the world,<br />
all keen to take advantage of the<br />
area’s ideal mix of wind and waves.<br />
Having witnessed the scene for<br />
many years, Dutch photographer<br />
Ydwer van der Heide was eager to<br />
find a fresh perspective with the<br />
help of fellow countryman and<br />
kitesurfer Kevin Langeree. His<br />
search turned up this tidal rock<br />
pool just outside the city, shielded<br />
from the waves that batter the<br />
surrounding boulders – the perfect<br />
place to escape the crowds.<br />
