membership of the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery Centre
Management Committee and that the committee community
membership structure be increased from the current two members to
three members.

Background
The Shire President and the CEO attended the Cape Inscription Management Committee
held in Perth on 9 April 2008. The following Minutes as well as letter from the Premier tabled
at this meeting are included for Councils information –

Comment
The recommendations in the Minutes are self explanatory and in particular relate to the
majority of the meeting discussing the draft Management Plan process undertaken so far for
the Cape Inscription Management Plan. The draft Plan will be amended with comments
made at the meeting and then forwarded to Council for adoption in draft mode with
recommendation to advertise the draft Plan for public comment. It is envisaged that once
the public comment period has closed the Committee will consider submissions made for
recommendation to Council. At this stage the Committee intend to consider these
submissions at its next meeting tentatively planned for early August 2008.
