Inadequacy,
The plane seatbelt straps
That just don’t reach
The scale that refuses
To budge at all
The breath that you
Can’t seem to catch
The pants that try as
You may just won’t fit
POETRY
The ring that is forever
Too tight to wear
The plastic chair
On the verge of collapse
The stares of strangers
Never minding their own
The need to turn sideways
Through the doors at home
Yes,
I know inadequacy
With stubborn, endless intimacy.
