The 21yr Childhood

POETRY
I was created in the depths of a golden valley.
Made of the love and blood of freshly damp Earth and the
collective whispers of the divine.
The Great River yawned and I emerged,
barreling from its mouth.
Pure, amongst my sins and imperfections,
I grew learning the lessons of the white fire I rolled in my palms.
I don’t remember what it felt like to be young,
but I know what it feels like to be free and that is almost the same.
The magic of casualty is that I am reborn again and again,
like a phoenix bursting from the ash,
to re-live such wild and ageless youth.
