1066 a Louis XVI style ormolu & green painted cabinet<br />
Late 19th/early 20th c, redecorated, the breakfronted top with eared corners above<br />
a conforming paneled frieze over an oval paneled door centering Diana, enclosing<br />
a shelf, flanked by further panels centered by cartouches, with putto term-headed<br />
uprights to sides, above a conforming base on later plinth feet,<br />
48.5’’ H x 53.5’’ W x 21.25’’ D, est:$3000/5000. Provenance: Property from the Marjorie<br />
Bacon Trust, Montecito, CA Condition: Re-decorated, as stated. Formerly ebonized.<br />
With traces of ebonized decoration under chipped losses of green decoration.<br />
Structurally sound. With typical marks, nicks and scratches commensurate with age.<br />
Some shrinkage cracking to top. Also with separation of joints in areas visible through<br />
cracking surface paint, notably around central medallion, with areas of gesso visible.<br />
Mounts nicely cast. With some rubbing and slight darkening to mounts overall. Tip<br />
of key broken off in lock. Door does not lock. Plinth feet later, as stated, and made of<br />
plywood.<br />
1067 a Louis XV style gilt bronze-mounted bureau plat<br />
Probably first half 20th c, the serpentine top with triple-divided gilt-tooled black<br />
leather inset writing surface above a waved frieze fitted with one long flanked by two<br />
short drawers, with faux drawers to the reverse, over female term and acanthusheaded<br />
cabriole legs ending in foliate-scroll sabots, 30.5’’ H x 69.5’’ W x 37.5’’ D,<br />
est:$2000/3000 Condition: Structurally sound. General marks, nicks and scratches<br />
commensurate with age and use. Mounts of varying quality- somewhat roughly cast.<br />
Female terms with pitting to faces. Mounts rubbed and slightly darkened overall,<br />
particularly sabots. Leather in good condition with only light marks and spotting. With<br />
some cracking, lifting and losses to veneer, mostly minor in areas. Largest areas<br />
of veneer loss are the insides of back legs, as visible in catalogue photo. Drawers<br />
locked. No key.<br />
1068 a Louis XV style walnut canape settee sofa<br />
Probably early 20th c, the arched channeled crestrail centered by a floral spray,<br />
above a triple-divided padded curved back and loose cushion seat covered in pink<br />
floral damask, over a waved scroll and floral-carved seatrail, on cabriole legs ending<br />
in scroll toes, 45.25’’ H x 57’’ W x 28’’ D, est:$700/1000. Provenance: Property of a<br />
Private Pasadena, CA Collector Condition: height of seat: 21’’ width of seat: 52.5’’<br />
depth of seat <strong>22</strong>’’. Structurally sound. With a honey color to timber overall. General<br />
marks, nicks, scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. Areas of minor,<br />
overpainted restoration throughout. With possible alteration to front seatrail. Each<br />
end with cut and overpainted repair, with through tenon visible, topped with a<br />
modern patera carving. Upholstery in good overall condition, with light wear and<br />
fading commensurate with age and use. Upholstered to reverse.<br />
1069 Pair Louis XVI style bronze figural candelabra<br />
Early 20th c, ormolu and patinated bronze, formed as a male or female satyrs, each<br />
holding a cornucopia issuing five acanthus-sheathed spiral twist candlearms with<br />
central foliate-cast nozzle, on an integral fluted circular pedestal base, drilled for<br />
electricity, 47.5’’ H x 20.5’’ W x 23.5’’ D, est:$3000/5000. Provenance: Property of a<br />
Private Pasadena, CA Collector Condition: Elements nicely modeled. General marks,<br />
scratches, rubbing and wear overall, commensurate with age. Gilding and patina<br />
rubbed on surfaces of both. Some dirt accumulation overall, would benefit from<br />
proper cleaning. One candlearm issuing from cornucopia of male figure broken and<br />
re-soldered. Foliate collar on cornucopia of same possibly a replacement. Drilled<br />
for electricity, as stated. Some wiring elements remain. Would need to be re-wired.<br />
Some minor denting or warping to pedestal bases.<br />
