1105 Pairpoint ‘Puffy’ stratford dogwood boudoir lamp<br />

Early 20th c, the base marked ‘’Pairpoint’’ with ‘’P’’ within a diamond and ‘’C3064’’, the<br />

spreading shade with blue, yellow and purple dogwood blossoms on a pink ground<br />

with black border over a tapering foliate-cast dual-finish stem, electrified, overall,<br />

14.75’’ H x 9.25’’ Dia., est:$2000/3000. Literature: This model lamp, the shade, signed<br />

Stratford, with yellow ground, is illustrated: E. & S. Malakoff. ‘’Pairpoint Lamps.’’ West<br />

Chester, PA: 1990, p. 64. Provenance: Property from a Private Collection Condition:<br />

General marks, scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. Rubbing to<br />

silvered decoration to finial and stem overall, as visible in catalogue photo. Shade<br />

apparently unsigned. Shade colors rich and vibrant. With a 0.25’’ x 0.25’’ fine chipped<br />

loss to front of black border edge of shade. With some white residue to surface of<br />

shade overall. Re-wired, probably mid-20th century. Wiring should be checked by a<br />

qualified electrician prior to use.<br />

1106 a Handel palm tree chipped glass lamp 6586<br />

Early 20th c, the base impressed ‘’Handel’’, with company label to underside, the<br />

shade fitter marked ‘’Handel Lamps / Pat’d 979664’’, the domed hexagonal ribbed<br />

shade, with chipped sand finished surface decorated with clusters of palms against a<br />

sunset, over a ribbed spreading base, electrified, 21.5’’ H x 15.5’’ Dia., est:$3000/5000.<br />

Literature: This model shade and base is illustrated R. De Falco, C. G. Hibel & J.<br />

Hibel. ‘’Handel Lamps: Painted Shades & Glassware.’’ Staten Island, NY: 1986, p. 92.<br />

Provenance: Property of a Private Apple Valley, CA Collector Condition: Shade in<br />

overall very good condition. With only light marks and scratches to surface. Bottom<br />

half of base with patinated surface entirely removed. With some polish residue in<br />

crevices. Would benefit from being re-patinated. Wiring should be checked by a<br />

qualified electrician prior to use.<br />

1107 a pair of Liberty pewter ‘Tudric’ candlesticks<br />

1902-1905, designed by Archibald Knox, marked ‘’9 / Tudric / 0<strong>22</strong>3’’, each with a<br />

circular drip pan over a bullet-form nozzle above three fin-form supports on a circular<br />

domed base decorated with scrolls, 9’’ H x 6’’ Dia., est:$1000/1500. Note: A pair of<br />

this exact model is illustrated in S. Martin. ‘’Archibald Knox’’, p. 113. A pair of this<br />

model sold Sotheby’s, Olympia, September 9, 2003, lot 117 (2,200 British Pounds).<br />

Provenance: Private Collection, Pasadena, CA Condition: Good original condition.<br />

General marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Both drip pans have<br />

scratches. With candle wax residue in nozzles.<br />

1108 Bohemian art Nouveau glass vase<br />

Early 20th c, possibly by Loetz or Josef Rindskopf, of tapering form, with iridescent<br />

blue and purple waves on an amber ground, with pointed downswept handles<br />

to sides, over pierced spreading feet, 11.5’’ H x 6.5’’ W x 3.5’’ Dia., est:$700/900.<br />

Provenance: Property of a Private Apple Valley, CA Collector Condition: Good<br />

condition overall. General light marks and scratches to surface commensurate with<br />

age. With a few small chips to edge of neck, not visible due to neck mount. With<br />

some slight rubbing and darkening to mounts. With polish residue to crevices.<br />
