Collection, Claremont, CA Condition: Visual: Toning to the paper and water stain in<br />

the upper left and lower right corner margin edges. Hinged in the upper left and right<br />

corners.<br />

1098 Cesare Lapini white marble bust woman Night<br />

Late 19th c, inscribed to reverse ‘’C. Lapini (1848 - circa 1900, Italy), Firenze, 1898,<br />

depicting a draped bust of a woman with long hair, her hands behind her head and<br />

eyes closed, wrapped in a crescent moon, with stars in her hair, allegorical of night,<br />

on a white marble socle, overall, 24’’ H x 14’’ W x 12’’ D, est:$2500/3500. Note: Cesare<br />

Lapini was working in Florence in the mid to late 19th century and specialized in<br />

allegorical marble groups and figures. His workshop, the Galleria Lapini, catered<br />

largely to tourists from America and England. It is recorded as operating as late as<br />

1900. An identical bust sold, Sotheby’s, New York, October 24, 2006, lot 363 ($4,800).<br />

Provenance: Property of a Private Pasadena, CA Collector Condition: Height of bust:<br />

19’’. Very nicely modeled. General light marks, scratches and weathering to surface.<br />

With minor chipped losses to tips of stars. Index finger to left hand broken off- visible<br />

only on reverse. Minor chipped losses to bottom edge of base.<br />

1099 a Royal doulton aubrey Flow Blue chamber set<br />

Late 19th / early 20th c, Art Nouveau, with maker’s marks and further marked with<br />

registration numbers ‘’399945’’ and ‘’403830’’, comprising a wash basin (5.5’’ x 16’’), a<br />

pitcher (14’’ x 7.5’’ x 8’’), a small covered soap dish (4’’ x 5.5’’), a larger open soap dish<br />

(2.75’’ x 8.25’’ x 8’’), a toothbrush holder (6’’ x 4.25’’ x 4’’), a chamber pot<br />

(5.5’’ x 11’’ x 9’’), a bamboo-handled pot (11’’ x 13’’ x 11’’), 7 pcs, est:$800/1200<br />

Condition: Very good condition overall. General light marks and scratches to surface.<br />

With some minor inherent firing imperfections. Gilding to edges largely intact. A few<br />

areas with spottiness to glazing, as manufactured, particularly to rim of chamber pot.<br />

1100 a T&V Limoges art Nouveau cameo plate of a beauty<br />

Early 20th c, marked ‘’T & V / Limoges’’ (Tressemann & Vogt), centrally decorated with<br />

a woman with upswept hair with jeweled ornament, within a wreath of flowers, with<br />

gilt rim, 11.5’’ Dia., est:$600/900. Provenance: Property of a Private Collector, Altadena,<br />

CA Condition: Good condition overall. With general light marks and scratches to<br />

surface commensurate with age. Very little rubbing to gilding on rim.<br />
