1092 alexander Calder (1898-1976 New york, Ny) “Homage to Man Ray”, signed in pencil lower right: Calder, numbered in pencil lower left: 3/100, color lithograph on paper under glass, paper size: 19.5’’ x 14.5’’, est:$600/900. Provenance: Property from the Estate of Dr. Harold M. M. Tovell Condition: Visual: Toning to the paper throughout, particularly along the extreme edges. Framed floating. Not examined out of the frame. 1093 Ned scott (1907-1964 Hollywood, Ca) “Pond Lilies”, 1934, signed in ink verso: Ned Scott, platinum print , image size: 9.5’’ x 7.5’’, est:$600/800. Note: Ned Scott was born in France and moved to Manhattan as a young man. There he became a member of the Camera Club of New York and developed a successful career as a commercial photographer. In 1935, Scott moved west to Hollywood and worked for the next seven years shooting film stills for important directors such as Tania Tuttle, Paul Strand, John Ford and Orson Welles. While he was well known for his artistic collaborations in the motion picture industry, his iconic portraits of John Wayne and Rita Hayworth reflect Scott’s pure artistic form and are his most glamorous shots. In 1946, Ned Scott received Look Magazine’s coveted Still Photo of the Year Award. Source: Ned Scott Archives. Note: Paper size: 9.75’’ x 14.5’’. Provenance: Perkins Collection, Newhall, CA Condition: Visual: Generally good condition. Sight area is slightly light-struck. Literature: G.F. Moon, pub. Note: Paper size: 16.75’’ x 23.25’’. Provenance: Private Collection, Claremont, CA Condition: Visual: Toning to the paper and water stain in the upper left and lower right corner margin edges. Hinged in the upper left and right corners. 1098 Cesare Lapini white marble bust woman Night Late 19th c, inscribed to reverse ‘’C. Lapini (1848 - circa 1900, Italy), Firenze, 1898, depicting a draped bust of a woman with long hair, her hands behind her head and eyes closed, wrapped in a crescent moon, with stars in her hair, allegorical of night, on a white marble socle, overall, 24’’ H x 14’’ W x 12’’ D, est:$2500/3500. Note: Cesare Lapini was working in Florence in the mid to late 19th century and specialized in allegorical marble groups and figures. His workshop, the Galleria Lapini, catered largely to tourists from America and England. It is recorded as operating as late as 1900. An identical bust sold, Sotheby’s, New York, October 24, 2006, lot 363 ($4,800). Provenance: Property of a Private Pasadena, CA Collector Condition: Height of bust: 19’’. Very nicely modeled. General light marks, scratches and weathering to surface. With minor chipped losses to tips of stars. Index finger to left hand broken off- visible only on reverse. Minor chipped losses to bottom edge of base. 1099 a Royal doulton aubrey Flow Blue chamber set Late 19th / early 20th c, Art Nouveau, with maker’s marks and further marked with registration numbers ‘’399945’’ and ‘’403830’’, comprising a wash basin (5.5’’ x 16’’), a pitcher (14’’ x 7.5’’ x 8’’), a small covered soap dish (4’’ x 5.5’’), a larger open soap dish (2.75’’ x 8.25’’ x 8’’), a toothbrush holder (6’’ x 4.25’’ x 4’’), a chamber pot (5.5’’ x 11’’ x 9’’), a bamboo-handled pot (11’’ x 13’’ x 11’’), 7 pcs, est:$800/1200 Condition: Very good condition overall. General light marks and scratches to surface. With some minor inherent firing imperfections. Gilding to edges largely intact. A few areas with spottiness to glazing, as manufactured, particularly to rim of chamber pot. 1100 a T&V Limoges art Nouveau cameo plate of a beauty Early 20th c, marked ‘’T & V / Limoges’’ (Tressemann & Vogt), centrally decorated with a woman with upswept hair with jeweled ornament, within a wreath of flowers, with gilt rim, 11.5’’ Dia., est:$600/900. Provenance: Property of a Private Collector, Altadena, CA Condition: Good condition overall. With general light marks and scratches to surface commensurate with age. Very little rubbing to gilding on rim. 23
