1093 Ned scott (1907-1964 Hollywood, Ca)<br />
“Pond Lilies”, 1934, signed in ink verso: Ned Scott, platinum print , image size:<br />
9.5’’ x 7.5’’, est:$600/800. Note: Ned Scott was born in France and moved to<br />
Manhattan as a young man. There he became a member of the Camera Club of New<br />
York and developed a successful career as a commercial photographer. In 1935, Scott<br />
moved west to Hollywood and worked for the next seven years shooting film stills for<br />
important directors such as Tania Tuttle, Paul Strand, <strong>John</strong> Ford and Orson Welles.<br />
While he was well known for his artistic collaborations in the motion picture industry,<br />
his iconic portraits of <strong>John</strong> Wayne and Rita Hayworth reflect Scott’s pure artistic<br />
form and are his most glamorous shots. In 1946, Ned Scott received Look Magazine’s<br />
