A 28 BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOL SIGNED<br />

FISHER, LONDON, CIRCA 1810<br />

with slightly swamped octagonal sighted barrel, inlaid<br />

with a gold line and signed in gold over the breech, goldlined<br />

vent, engraved breech tang fitted with back-sight,<br />

signed engraved stepped detented lock fitted with bolt<br />

safety-catch, roller, and semi rainproof pan (cock<br />

replaced), figured walnut half-stock, chequered butt, steel<br />

trigger-guard engraved with trophies on the bow and with<br />

pineapple finial, small tear-shaped silver butt-cap<br />

engraved with a flowerhead, vacant silver escutcheon,<br />

and silver barrel bolt escutcheons (ramrod missing, the<br />

steel parts with areas of pitting, stock bruised)<br />

with octagonal sighted barrel inlaid with a line at the<br />

breech, engraved breech tang, signed engraved stepped<br />

lock, figured walnut full stock, chequered grip, engraved<br />

steel mounts (pitted), silver escutcheon engraved with the<br />

owner’s crest, and associated brass-tipped wooden<br />

ramrod<br />

This crest is probably that of Macartney of Lissanoure,<br />
