I NEWS IEDITORIALRichard BarnesEditor-in-Chief,IFA InternationalBeam me up… to IFAIFA this year is a bit like riding on the StarshipEnterprise… “boldly going where no manhas gone before”. Indeed, the move by IFA’sorganisers to go ahead with this new kindof “hybrid” show is yet again proof of thebold and innovative nature of the show’smanagement.For this edition, the organisers have three keyintentions. The first is to show how innovativethe participating industries are – even inthese times – as the innovation certainlydidn’t stop during the pandemic. The secondintention is to inform retailers about what’snew in the industry… what’s worth ordering –to get prepared for the most important retailseason of the year. Numerous governmentsare creating incentives, offering chances forretail to be more successful than the previousyears; but they have to be informed. IFA 2020is their sole “real” opportunity to get the facts.Even if a retailer can’t attend, they can followthe presentations live and discover the USPsand other advantages of the new productson stage. The third aim of the organiser is tocreate a huge impact for the consumers –informing them that there ARE new products,there ARE innovations, and that there is a“buzz” for them to be interested in the newproducts. For this reason, for the first time, IFAis opening all press conferences to everyoneonline: press, trade and the general public.It’s a new format… it’s a new concept… butthe aim is the same – to be the beating heartof the industry at the most important sellingtime of the year.Welcome… to a very special edition of IFAIFA International is a CLEVERDIS Publication.65 av.
