Morning WI
When you read this we have just starting our
second lockdown. All our big plans for our
meetings at the Golf Club have had to be
cancelled which rather left us at square one.
Having an older membership we do not have
the expertise for modern technology that other
groups are fortunate to have, however we are
going to have a speaker on Zoom for November
as it is our birthday meeting and it would be
good to do the same for our Christmas meeting.
Our AGM took place on Zoom and twenty of
our members joined in. I have been succeeded
in my presidency after six years by Christine
Nisbet. I enjoyed my time at the helm but am a
great believer in change is good. New faces new
ideas. It was lovely that we had no problem
getting a committee. We send best wishes to all
readers. Sheila Sparrow
Village Care
Village Care is increasing our contact with
Clients and Volunteers during this second
lockdown. This service is much appreciated.
We wish everyone as good a Christmas as
possible, and we hope everyone keeps well.

The Village Show
We intend to have a Village Show in 2021, we
are considering moving it from June to
September. Our Schedule will remain the same
and is on the website https://
pennandtylersgreenvillageshow.com and
Facebook https://en-gb.facebook.com/

you in 2021. David Deadman
Penn Pond Waders Golf Society
Following my last update, I am sad to report
that all golf courses were closed again for most
of November. We cancelled our planned trip to

Village Voice December 2020/January 2021
Bournemouth in October since the social
restrictions would have been too onerous. Our
members are also disappointed that our popular
annual captain’s charity day at Ashridge GC has
also had to be postponed until next year. 2020
has been challenging for everyone. Fortunately,
we were able to enjoy playing golf during the
summer and early Autumn. We also managed to
host 3 PPWGS events during the year. Let us all
hope and pray that by the New Year we will
start to see this horrible virus being eradicated to
allow us all to get back to some degree of
normality again. Our planned 2021 events will
be announced in the next edition of VV.
If you are interested in joining our friendly
Society or coming along as a guest at any of our
future 2021 events, please contact our Secretary
Bob Teuton on 07973 137446. We would love
to welcome some new Waders at some of the
great golfing venues we normally play at. For

Hazlemere Gardening
Association
Like many other organisations it's been a
difficult year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sadly our Spring and Autumn shows had to be
cancelled along with planned trips and our
annual social.
On a more positive note, although we had to
close the barn store from March we were able to
continue selling products to our members via an
‘Order & Collect service’ from our website.
We are looking at the possibility of opening the
Barn store again from February next year, but
this will depend on the Covid restrictions in
place at that time and our ability to manage the
situation safely. If we feel unable to open
normally then we will continue with our order
& collect service and expand the list of products
on our website. We have put in orders for
potatoes, onions, shallots and seeds for next
season, so lets hope for a better year in 2021.
