parents if they would like him to
tutor their children. The parents
happily paid for children writing
examinations and came back with a
smile after good results.
When all are told to register
businesses so that they can render
services, Kgathola said that may
mostly be unnecessary as customers
only desire services rendered, the
rest one can take care of later albeit
sooner. He said if services are good,
the customer base will grow, even
outgrow expectations.
‘’In Lion Tutoring, we roll out a red
carpet for our customers and with
that approach, we had more than 1
800 active customers this year. Our
customers are individuals hence the
customized service. I am confident to
say we go all out to make them feel
special,’’ said Kgathola.
GROWTH
Lion Tutoring grew from 60 students
in March 2015 with only 3 tutors to
more than 500 students end of 2017.
A significant increase in students was
experienced in the year 2016 with over
300 new students. By the end of 2017,
Lion Tutoring had employed 80 tutors.
Kgathola disclosed that he tutored
more than 40 students in a given month
before Lion Tutoring started hiring
tutors. In order to service his clientele,
he had to work 7 days a week and made
close to P20,000 a month.
According to Kgathola, Lion Tutoring
has experienced year-on-year growth.
In the first year, the tutoring centre
made an annual turnover of P289,000,
P600,000 in the third year and P3.8
Million in the firth year. Kgathola has
reported that in the sixth year, they are
on track to make P10 Million.
Lion Tutoring continues to grow in leaps
and bounds and currently operates
four branches in Botswana and one in
Johannesburg, South Africa while tutors
attend to their students at home and
online. Most Lion Tutoring employees
work from home.
Kgathola’s achievements have earned
him recognition beyond Botswana.
He has been featured on the cover of
Forbes magazine and listed in its Top
30 young African entrepreneurs.
His goal was to run a successful
business by the age of 30 and he did
it! ‘’I have made it, I am directing my
own company that makes a few million,
married to a beautiful woman, living at
our place and expecting a baby,” he said.
VISION
The ultimate goal of Lion Tutoring is
to expand to other African countries
