The Statutory Instrument No. 102 of<br />
2020 was published in the Government<br />
Gazette dated 14th August 2020 with the<br />
purpose to stimulate the establishment and<br />
development of micro, small, medium and<br />
large enterprises operating the bread and<br />
confectionary services.<br />
Upon following up on the announcement<br />
made by the Minister, Lameck Nthekela,<br />
a secretary at the Ministry of Trade,<br />
Investment and Industries Economic<br />
Diversification Drive Department said,<br />
the reservation is meant to promote the<br />
establishment and expansion of enterprises<br />
within the bread and biscuit confectionery<br />
sector to produce for the domestic and<br />
regional markets. As such, local produce<br />
from these enterprises is expected to find<br />
a market in the retail sector.<br />
