Take us on your journey. How did it all<br />

begin? What inspired you to start your<br />

company?<br />

My love for food (and the kitchen) started<br />

at a very young age when I used to bake<br />

scones and brew gemere for the extended<br />

family during the Christmas holidays. I<br />

had gained the skills from my Home Economics class in Junior<br />

Secondary School. I also went on to do Food and Nutrition at<br />

Senior School and obtained an A*, and it only followed that my<br />

“calling” is in the kitchen. The baker in me was born then. Later<br />

on, I opened up a Facebook page and put up a few pictures of<br />

my work (mostly meals at that time). The page got quite several<br />

likes and appealing comments.<br />

My aim was to offer something different and exceptional,<br />

being mindful of quality as well as freshness. Something<br />

better than my competitors, I wanted my customers to talk<br />

about the brand that is Raps Kitchen and spread a good<br />

word of mouth out there. I dream to open up a state of the<br />

art kitchen (restaurant), with a bakery section, we are not<br />

there yet.<br />

What was your dream when you started the bakery?<br />

And how far away are you from achieving the air if not<br />

achieved?<br />

What was the lowest moment in your journey?<br />

My lowest point would be during the COVID-19 lockdown,<br />

and the business hit rock bottom. Sales went down, for<br />
