Unlike high school, university
assignments need a lot of
research to do. For this, you
need to apply what you learn
in class with your research
to produce an applied
solution. This is when they
test the depth of a student’s
understanding of the core.
By the time everyone is running around
for last-minute solutions, you would
have long finished and you are making
final polishes to the assignment.
6JOIN VARSITY CLUBS AND SOCIETIES
There are many clubs and
societies in varsities; College Publicity
Committee, chess, athletics club, to
mention but a few. There are more than
enough clubs for any student out there.
Many people who are active in their
clubs or associations use the skills they
learn to succeed in the classroom and
beyond, including when they enter the
corporate world. Often, by engaging
with new people in certain groups and
clubs, they have forged networks that
are guaranteed to be useful to them
in the future as well as forming great
friendships with people that share a
lot in common with them. Varsity is a
worthwhile experience, and the only
person who largely influences their
varsity experience is the student. Work
hard, play hard but don’t let the city
lights blind you from your goals! MBW
Maintain a good class attendance record and do your assignments early to
avoid last minute panics
Make time for recreation, be it video games or some sports.
However, do not let this derail your studies
