Seeds multimillion dollar
investment supporting New
The hightech Germanmade
Petkus seeddressing plant, in
operation in Ashburton since earlier
this year,was officially openedthis
week by agricultural minister
DamienO’Connor, Luisetti Seeds
andhis father Max, nowretired but
who spent 42 years in the industry.
Mr O’Connor helped the company
secure international border
exemptions during tight covid
restrictionsfor offshore specialists
working alongside adedicated team
of peopleinthe district toget the
cuttingedgepiece oftechnology up
season.
Many of those involved in the
installationofthe plantatthe
the official opening,alongside
Luisetti staff, industry members,
Ashburton District mayor Neil
Brown and membersofthe Ridge
The company, whichstarted by
The new plant was thefirst of its
It processes ryegrass, fescue,
