Sabanci University and Nobel Pharmaceuticals Collaborate

A memorandum of
understanding in the field of
medicine and biotechnology
was signed between Sabancı

Center (SUNUM) and Nobel
Pharmaceuticals.

Pharmaceuticals signed an
important cooperation protocol
within the framework of industry
and university cooperation.

Board Member Numan Balki attended to the signing
ceremony held in the SUNUM building.
Prof. Dr. Fazilet Vardar Sukan said, “With the cooperation
of these two important institutions, we aim to achieve
effective results in the field of medicine and biotechnology
in the short and medium term. With the competencies of
Nobel Pharmaceuticals in the field of biopharmaceuticals
and of SUNUM in the field of nanotechnology and
infrastructure, significant contributions will be made to the
drug development and marketization efforts in Turkey.”
With this collaboration between Nobel Pharmaceuticals,
which carries out research, development, production,
marketing and distribution of biopharmaceutical products,
and SUNUM, which carries out innovative applications
in the field of nanotechnology, it is aimed to carry out
effective studies in the field of medicine and biotechnology
in the short and medium term.
In cooperation, it is planned to evaluate the opportunities
of the “anti-CD 147 inhibitors”-based research program
developed by SUNUM for coronaviruses, different cancers
and other diseases, and to initiate research activities for
the development of proprietary host cell lines for the
production of biotechnological drugs. Initiating research
activities of Nobel Pharmaceuticals for the development
of proprietary media and buffer solutions for industrial cell
lines and supporting the development of new solutions for
different diseases with possible discoveries are also within
the scope of the cooperation.

işbirliği çerçevesinde
önemli bir işbirliği
protokolüne imza attılar. SUNUM binasında gerçekleştirilen
imza törenine; SUNUM Direktörü Prof. Dr. Fazilet Vardar
Sukan ve Nobel İlaç Yönetim Kurulu Üyesi Numan Balki
katıldı.
Prof. Dr. Fazilet Vardar Sukan, “Bu önemli iki kurumun
işbirliği ile ilaç ve biyoteknoloji alanında kısa ve orta vadede
etkin sonuçlar elde etmeyi hedefliyoruz. Nobel İlaç’ın
biyofarmasötik alanındaki, SUNUM’un ise nanoteknoloji
ve altyapı alanındaki yetkinlikleri ile Türkiye’de ilaç
geliştirme ve pazara sunma çalışmalarına önemli katkılar
sunulacaktır” dedi.
Biyofarmasötik ürünlerin araştırma, geliştirme, üretim,
pazarlama ve dağıtımını yapan Nobel İlaç ile nanoteknoloji
alanında yenilikçi uygulamalara imza atan SUNUM
arasında yapılan bu işbirliği ile kısa ve orta vadede ilaç
ve biyoteknoloji alanında etkin çalışmalar yürütülmesi
hedefleniyor.
İşbirliğiyle, SUNUM’un koronavirüsler, farklı kanserler
ve diğer hastalıklar için geliştirdiği “anti-CD 147
inhibitörleri” temelli araştırma programının fırsatlarının
değerlendirilmesi, biyoteknolojik ilaç üretimi için, tescilli
konak hücre hatlarının geliştirilmesine yönelik araştırma
faaliyetlerinin başlatılması planlanıyor. Nobel İlaç’ın
endüstriyel hücre hatları için tescilli ortam ve tampon
çözelti geliştirmeye yönelik araştırma faaliyetlerini
başlatmak ve olası keşifleri ile farklı hastalıklar için
yeni çözümlerin geliştirilmesini desteklemek de işbirliği
kapsamında yer alıyor.
