Within the scope of the Technology Focused Industry Move
Program, products related to chemistry, pharmaceuticals
and medical devices were published in the Official
Gazette on February 27, 2021 and included in the priority
product list. 98 of the 103 products determined to be
suitable for domestic investment in the Turkish Chemical
Industry Investment Priority Products Report prepared
by IKMIB to reduce foreign trade deficit and raw material
dependency, and to increase high value-added production
and exports were included in the list. In the webinar, which
was organized to inform the sector about the program,
incentives and supports, detailed information was shared
about which incentives the companies wishing to apply for
investment will benefit from for a total of 421 products
and 80 innovative technologies determined in the chemical,
petrochemical and health sectors.
Applications will continue until September 13
Within the scope of the program, support will be provided
for the development of chemical and petrochemical sector
products, which have high potential in the development
of the national industry. In addition, within the framework
of the call, domestic production of selected products
from the pharmaceutical industry and the medical device
industry, which has the opportunity to export with a
significant amount and variety of production and which
has high added value, will be supported. Applications can
be made to the Call for Health and Chemical Products on
www.hamle.gov.tr until September 13, 2021.
Adil Pelister: “Eight of the world’s top ten
economies are the countries that produce and sell
the most chemical products in the world”
Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Chemistry Sector Platform
(KSP) and Chairman of the Board of IKMIB, who spoke
at the opening of the Technology Focused Industry
Move Program Call for Chemistry and Health Products
Information webinar, emphasized that eight of the world’s
top ten economies, which are listed as the USA, China,
Japan, Germany, England, France, India, Italy, Brazil and
South Korea, are also listed as the countries that can
produce and sell the most chemical products in the world,
apart from Italy and the UK. Stating that 10 countries
have produced more than $55 trillion in value by 2020,
Pelister said, “We see that the chemical industry has a
very important role in making the foreign trade balances
of these countries positive and creating net surplus value
in their economies. The chemical industry has not only
produced and sold its own sectoral final products, but
has also become the supplier of other sectors, starting
from space technologies, from the defense industry
to transportation and communication, from the textile
and food industries, from the automotive industry to
information technologies. However, the health industry,
the plastics industry, the cosmetics, paint and cleaning
industries, and the biochemical industries and their subderivatives
make up the 16 sub-sectors covered by the
chemical industry. I am sure that in the near future there
will be more sub-derivative sectors within the ‘New Deal’.
