Andre - you made your QPR debut
as a second-half substitute at
Reading. You must have been pleased to
come on and play your part by starting
the comeback?
It was a dream debut to come on and
score. It was an important goal at the
time as we were 3-1 down so it gave us
that boost and belief that we needed.
You could see in your celebrations in
front of the away end when the lastgasp
equaliser went in just how much it
meant to you?
Definitely. I thought the QPR fans
were amazing all afternoon. We were
the better team on the day, so it was
frustrating to find ourselves 3-1 down.
That knocked us back a bit. But I got us
back in it and then for Stefan [Johansen]
to get the equaliser in front of the
travelling supporters was a great feeling.
You joined QPR on transfer deadline day
from Watford. What attracted you to
the club?
I just wanted to start enjoying my
football again. The manager also played
a massive part in my move having
previously worked with him at Brentford.
It was an easy decision.
How does Mark Warburton compare to
other managers you’ve played under?
What does he do differently?
I think it’s his attention to detail and the
belief he has in his squad. I had a bit of a
rocky time at Watford so it was important
to be somewhere I can get back on track.
I felt like this was the best place with the
best manager.
It kind of feels like the end of an era at
Watford with both yourself and Troy
Deeney leaving in recent weeks?
Possibly, but that’s football. As the years
go by, players get older, and teams go in
different directions. It happens at every club.
