making his professional
debut in 2009.
A fine spell at Roots
Hall, which included a
League Two play-off
victory over Wycombe
Wanderers, caught the
eye of Championship
Brentford and he
joined the Bees in the
summer of 2016.
The shot-stopper
went on to make 125
appearances in all
competitions for
Brentford prior to
moving to Ashton
Gate ahead of the
2019/20 campaign.
Tomas Kalas has been a regular
in Bristol City’s starting XI
following his arrival, initially on
loan, in 2018, from Chelsea.
The centre-back had joined the
Blues from local club Sigma
Olomouc in 2010 but was never
given the chance to establish
himself at Stamford Bridge,
heading out on a number of
loans including stays at
Middlesbrough and Fulham.
Having impressed during
another temporary swich, this
time with City, the Robins
signed Kalas on a permanent
basis for a club record fee of
£8m in the summer of 2019.
