44 “IBIA EXPO 2022 will significantly increase the exports of the sector” “IBIA EXPO 2022, sektörün ihracatını önemli oranda artıracak” Osman Güler, Chairman of the Board of the International Bedding Industry Association, gave the good news of IBIA EXPO 2022 and made important statements. He explained the promotion strategies and objectives of the fair. Uluslararası Yatak Endüstrisi Derneği Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Osman Güler, IBIA EXPO 2022’nin müjdesini verdi ve önemli açıklamalarda bulundu. Fuarın, tanıtım stratejilerini ve hedeflerini anlattı. Osman Güler, Chairman of the IBIA Board of Directors, stated that the most important goal of the association is to bring the industry together and increase the synergy between them. Osman Güler continued his words as follows: “Participants of the IBIA EXPO fair, which we have organized with the aim of increasing our commercial activities, will meet many new mattress manufacturers in addition to their existing customers. The fair will enable them to establish new commercial relations and add dynamism, excitement and synergy to the sector. I think that the success of IBIA EXPO will reflect on exports and will significantly increase the export rate of the industry. We have been participating in many domestic and international fairs for years. Our dream was to organize a beautiful and productive sectoral fair in the country as well as abroad. Among the companies operating in our sector, there was no organization like IBIA. 45 For this reason, two different fairs in the same segment were organized on the same date with verbal agreements between the companies. Many companies had to participate in these two fairs. The companies participating in both fairs were not well prepared and the fair companies could not fill their halls. Visitors could not see the companies they wanted to see together. For this reason, participants, visitors and fair organization companies could not be happy. Such fairs have exhausted us both mentally and financially.” Emphasizing that for all these reasons, they have been looking for different ways and dreaming of becoming an association since 2019 to unite the industry, Osman Güler stated that they realized their idea of association in February <strong>2021</strong>. “After completing the activities of the association, we received the opinions of very important companies of the sector. After a long working process, we started the organization work quickly with the date and place determination. We decided to name the fair as IBIA EXPO in order to keep the name of our association alive. Very soon, we will start seeing promotions of IBIA EXPO 2022 in printed publications, mailing bulletins and digital platforms. We decided to carry out these promotions jointly with BİFAŞ,” he said. Stating that all of its members will be volunteer promotion ambassadors of IBIA EXPO, Osman Güler said, “We will have invitation stands and distribute thousands of invitations at all sector fairs that our members and customers will attend. We will organize promotional organizations in more than 15 industry fairs held in Turkey and the world. We will reach the mattress manufacturers and convince them to visit our fair face to face.” Emphasizing that all companies will invite their customers to the fair, Osman Güler said that they will send VIP CARD to such customers so that they can enter the fair more easily. “We will have a very serious promotional campaign. In addition to all these, i would like to give good news to all participating companies. Although participation in our fair is very cheap, we allocate 10 euros of each m2 as a purchasing committee fund. We will have a procurement committee fund budget of around 120 thousand Euros. In addition, we will conduct official studies with exporter associations. We will have enlarged our purchasing committee fund in order to benefit from government supports. We will use this fund to invite the world’s leading mattress manufacturers to Turkey with the recommendations of our members. First of all, we will persuade them to come to the fair and we will buy their plane tickets and arrange their hotels. We will even pick them up from the airport with VIP vehicles and bring them to the fair,” he said. There are thousands of mattress manufacturers in the world that do not come together with companies in the Turkish bedding yatak üreticisiyle tanışacaklar. IBIA EXPO’nun başarısının, ihracat rakamlarına yansıyacağını ve sektörün ihracat oranını önemli oranda arttıracağını düşünüyorum. Yıllardır, birçok yurt içi ve yurt dışı fuarlara katılıyoruz. Hayalimiz, yurt içinde de yurt dışında örnekleri olan güzel ve verimli bir sektörel fuar organize etmekti. Sektörümüzde faaliyet gösteren firmalar arasında birleştirici köprü rolü olabilecek IBIA benzeri bir organizasyon olmadığından dolayı firmalar arasında, sözlü anlaşmalar ile aynı tarihte, aynı segmentte iki farklı fuar organize edilmişti. Birçok firma bu iki fuara da katılma mecburiyetinde kaldı. İki fuara da katılan firmalar iyi hazırlanamadığından, fuar şirketleri salonlarını dolduramadı. Ziyaretçiler ise görmek istedikleri firmaları bir arada göremedikleri için, katılımcılar, ziyaretçiler ve fuar organizasyon firmaları mutlu olamadı. Bu tür fuarlar bizleri hem zihinsel hem de maddi olarak çok yordu.” Tüm bu nedenlerle farklı arayışlara girdiklerini ve 2019 yılından beri sektörün arasında birliktelik oluşturabilmek için dernekleşme hayalleri kurduklarını vurgulayan Osman Güler, <strong>2021</strong> yılının Şubat ayında dernekleşme fikirlerini hayata geçirdiklerini ifade etti. Osman Güler, “Dernek çalışmalarını tamamladıktan sonra, sektörün çok önemli firmalarının görüşlerini aldık. Uzun bir çalışma sürecinin ardından, tarih ve yer belirlememiz ile birlikte hızla organizasyon çalışmalarına başladık. Fuarın ismine ise derneğimizin ismini yaşatması açısından IBIA EXPO olarak karar verdik. Çok kısa bir süre sonra basılı yayınlarda, mailing bültenlerinde ve dijital platformlarda IBIA EXPO 2022’nin tanıtımlarını görmeye başlayacağız. Bu tanıtımları BİFAŞ ile ortak bir şekilde gerçekleştirmeye karar verdik” ifadelerini kullandı.
